I went to the ER today, waited for 4 hours . They took down my name, birthdate and name of my doctor only. They also typed in the computer the reason why i was there. During the wait, I felt better and asked them to take me off the list and left. I asked the lady if they will still bill me /insurance she said she doesnt know. Does anyone have this answer? Thanks

Well if you just sat in the waiting room, there should be no bill.
I mean they can't charge people for sitting in the waiting room.

No, you will not be billed for anything. Since you didn't see a nurse or a doctor they can't bill you for an emergency visit. I know this for sure, because it happened tome about a month ago. I went to the emergency room, got upset about having to wait for over 6 hours and left. They did not bill me for anything. I do hope you are feeling better and it was the right thing to do, by leaving. Best of luck to you!

If you never met the doctor you should not be charged. If for any reason they do bill your insurance you can do a members appeal through your insurance. Better yet you can call them now and let them know and they we note your policy.....

They can't bill you if they didn't do anything. Your chart will be blank and incomplete. If for some reason you are billed, just call your insurance company who will fix it for you.

If you were never seen medically by a doctor or nurse, I don't believe they can charge you.

If you were never evaluated by a nurse or doctor, you shouldn't be charged.
