My friend fed her dog alot of spice. Around the same time her dog's tail was injured. Ever since then her dog has been growling more then usual. I am wondering if her tail is the reason for the growling or the spice.

well a dog can growl when he is in pain actually most likely. i think it is becuase of his tail that he is growling honestly. But anyways tell your friend to not feed her dog spice becuase it will definately not help the dog at all. dogs or practiclly any animal should never be fed human food.

I think you have two separate problems. Growling because of the injured tail. Spices for a dog? Why? Some breeds are highly sensitive to spices. I am surprised the dog doesn't revolt by having a case of diarrhea! Unless the VET. has prescribed the spices...I would stop that and take care of the tail.

as a general rule you wouldn't want to feed a dog spices. their GI tract is sensitive to spices and might have some issues. as for the aggression, it's probably not related to the spice. as for the tail being the culpret, probably not either. did she pamper the pooch while he was injured. the dog might just be trying to test his limits with her. i would also take him back to the vet and make sure there's nothing wrong with the tail still or anywhere that's making him cranky. you say he's growling more lately, so i'm assuming he's been a dominant type dog anyway, i would say neither are related and she needs to consult a behavior trainer before it gets any worse.

What kind of spice is she feeding her dog? They don't need spice in the diet and especialy foods like onions and chocolate (which can be deadly) they need dog food. What's wrong with her tail-has she been to the vet?

one has nothing to do with the other . spice will cause gas and tummy pain and maybe bloat which can kill. eighter way will cause a dog to be in a bad mood to say the least and an injured tail is also pain and again causes a dog to bo angry
dogs show pain through anger.

Some dogs can handle spices, others can not.

You shouldn't intentionaly feed a dog spices though.

The dogs' tail may have not healed yet...perhaps your friend need to go back to the vet.

the growling is probably from the tail injury. but human food is bad for dogs, especially spice. it can cause sickness and diarrhea. its also very bad for there teeth.

What kind of spice? Garlic is good for dogs, and they love it, But anything with onion is harmful to dogs.
