There are..But it isn't like the old testament, we have the full bible written so we don't need that type of revelation. All christians have the Holy Spirit and truthfully any christian could prophesy if God wants him to. Lots of churches have prophets in them..

Who says there isn't any Prophets in the world. How do we know there isn't. Would anyone today believe someone who stood up in front of them and said " I am a Prophet." No. They would call him a religious nut. I'm sure there are prophets out there now, they are just wise enough to teach the word of God without getting labeled. Prophets would be patient people not looking for or needing the praises of mortal man.

There is no more need. We have the COMPLETE WORD OF GOD. The Bible.
It gives us ALL THE KNOWLEGE UP UNTIL THE END OF TIME that we need to succeed in this world. Why would we need someone else telling us the same thing the Bible does? God is not a god of waste and want. We have the words, just study them. Even the Book of Revelation, Chapter 1:3 says: "Happy is he who READS ALOUD AND UNDERSTANDS THESE WORDS!"
So, again, if we have and are able to understand God's Word, whats the use of a Prophet?

There are lots who claim to, but usually it requires confirmed "miracles", a life of sacrifice and a martydom type of death,a nd the world is full of too many skeptiocs, stop and think what it would take to convince everyone of a real "miracle" showing no other hand but God's? Science discounts everyone, including the crowds who saw the sun dance in the sky at Fatima, Constatine's cross in the sky or Bruce's army seeing St. Andrews' cross in the sky the morning of Bannockburn. Things happen that believers believe and skeptics dismiss, that will never change.

The prophets led up to Jesus, who fulfilled prophecy. No more were needed. That's why Muhammad is a false prophet and so is anyone else that might come along. This is to warn you about the Antichrist. After he shows up, there will be two witnesses and Jesus.
May God Bless you. Happy New Year.

The need for prophets was ended with the life, death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. Some anti- christian cults like the lds church and jehova witnesses still claim to have prophets yet they are definitley not hearing the voice of God.If one wishes to know God He has given us a source-The Bible.

before the Bible was written prophets were nessasary to prove that it is God's word. now that there is so much confusion about religion i believe God will send prophets so that we will know the truth again.
also if you study William Branham (i think it's spelled right) you will find that he was infact a prophet since all his prophecy has come true except for 2 which will come true near the very end of the world.

Oh gosh! There are lots of people in the world who claim to hear gods voice and so forth. There are also lots of people who claim that they have the ability to heal you by touching you.
What is scary is that there are many people who believe them.
A lot of people claim to hear god or have the lay on hands ability, but they don't call themselves "profits" because it is considered tacky or somethig like that.
