12:31 a.m. — Liddell says the win is the most satisfying of his career. He goes on to thank a gazillion sponsors. Joe Rogan mentions fighting Rampage, and Liddell says it’s up to the UFC but he wants the rematch. Cut to a shot of Rampage. He looks serious for the first time tonight.

Ortiz, on verge of tears, apologizes for letting down his fans. He gives props to Liddell. He said he brought his A-game and still lost but will be here for “a long, long time.”

12:27 a.m. — Ortiz goes down to his back, and Liddell lands some punches. A grazing kick to the kisser makes Liddell reconsider and he lets Ortiz up. They go back to trading punches, and Liddell’s getting the better of it. Ortiz goes down again and Liddell rains down punches. Liddell looks to be hitting mostly arms, and isn’t really connecting on anything, but the ref stops it! Fight’s over.

Liddell remains UFC light heavyweight champion.

12:25 a.m. — Liddell’s breathing is more labored, but he isn’t slowing too much. Ortiz has a huge knot on his left leg, and Liddell just landed a kick to it. Chuck’s jumping in with unanswered body shots. Half way through the third.

12:22 a.m. –Ortiz with a few slow takedown attempts. Completely unsuccesful. Ortiz sneaking in a few punches here and there, but Liddell still setting the pace. Ortiz gets him down with a quick takedown and has his back with less than a minute to go. Liddell gets out and up, though. Round two ends. Hard to judge that one, but I’d imagine Liddell gets it from the judges.

The cut above Ortiz’s eye doesn’t look good.

Bravo gives the round to Ortiz. The first went to Liddell, of course.

Round three begins.

liddell gained. third around. ortiz acknnowledged his loss. ortiz lost whether liddell became not in his ultimate shape. he had an excellent gut, like he basically got here from a lager bash. for this reason ortiz sucks.
