As a 20+ year house painter, I recommend Sherwin Williams Classic, it's their mid grade and about $25 a gal, it's not thick like SW Super Paint but not soupy like Pratt and Lambert or Pittsburgh.
Behr paint rolls on like glue and I found it just plain nasty to work with gums up the brush as well.
Dutch Boy is decent, if you get their high grade line
Durability is in the finish of the paint, the shinier the finish the harder the finish.
Flat washes off,
velvet/satin/eggshell is washable but not scrub-able,
semi-gloss is scrub-able,
but let any paint cure for 30 days before washing or scrubbing.

Well I have been working with my dad painting for 4 years now, and he has been a painter for over 30. As far a paint goes, you get what you pay for. If your just painting a bedroom, get somthing from Home Depot or Lowes. Its usually cheaper than a paint store.

there are lots of good paints out there and like someone else said above...generally you get what you pay for.
however, true value paint has been rated very high over the years and may be the best bet for the money.
i also like sherwin williams (a bit pricey), mautz and dutch boy(both owned by sherwin williams) and pittsburgh paint.
benjamin moore and behr are also good, but i think they are both overpriced.
happy painting!

We always use Behr, it gets a high rating from Consumer Report and I've never had a problem with it guming up on the brush like below says. We have used it a lot and it cleans up great and covers well.

You get what you pay for......Benjamin Moore (REGAL is the best interior paint PERIOD!
However, you will pay 10-25% for their products.
Americas tradition is Americas #1 selling paint (sherwin williams makes it for Lowes..ect.). I dont use it...but, a lot do.
TIP~ IF YOUR NOT SUPER PICKY ON THE COLOR you can go anywhere they sell paint...and ask for "mistints". Good way to get top quailty paint for a lot less!
