Nothing. Just wait it out, you would want to crap your pants out of fright too, if you were that lil kitty! :) If you can get it into a room by itself (with all the supplies it would need) that would be best. Then just leave it alone for a day, with no human interaction, because right now it is probably scared of you. The cats can smell each other thru the cracks of the door and this will let them get used to each other.
The next day, go in every once and a while and be super nice to the lil kitty, petting it, playing, etc. That will get it used to you.
The next day I would open the door and let it come out as it pleases, but don't rush it. Give it time.
If you can't get it out from under the couch, then just let it come out when it is ready. :) It will come around, it is just going to take a while. Having a place it can go to feel safe is important, as well.

Relax. Kittens esp but cats are curious creatures. They will want to explore everything.
Put out some milk into a saucer. Then most importantly, take the family (and yourself) out of the room. And leave the kitten alone. He/she will 1st come out when they think they are safe, they will have a drink when they think it is safe, and finally he/she will come out and greet you in the other room when its time.
I suspect right now, everyone is LOOKing at the kitten. Just relax and go on with life, and the kitten will relax as well.

Please don't give your kitten milk! Most cats are lactose intolerant
AS for you problem I would just be patient! When my sister got another cat we put the kitten in the bedroom with food water and litter box. After a while her other cat and the kitten were both much more relaxed. The could smell each other through the door and were able to get to know each other better before she let them re meet face to face.
Good luck!

My kitten was the same way. My husband picked her up at the pound and she was scared s**tless of us. We just let her have her space, food, water & litterbox. Then at night we'd get her on the bed for 5-15 minutes and hold her still and pet her and talk to her, then we eased up to 20, then 30, increasing nightly interaction time each day. Now she won't let us out of her sight. It takes time and all cats react differently when you first get them. It's hard b/c you feel like they don't like you, but your kitty will come around. Good luck!

sounds like it could have been separated from its mom too quickly. 8-12 weeks is the mentioned age, 12 weeks being extra ideal. i could recommend it went lower back to its mom for somewhat longer yet probability is the lady will basically provide the kitten to somebody else on the instant away, so it would not do the animal any sturdy. as long as she's being cared for now, that's what's substantial. besides, it somewhat is common for any cat to be worried of a sparkling atmosphere, extremely a kitten. basically provide her lots area, peace and quiet, and enable her detect her new atmosphere in her own time. isn't long in the previous she's have been given her nostril in each and every thing as she explores each and every nook of her new homestead. i could additionally take the kitten alongside to a vet for a verify-up as quickly as you may. would desire to try this with any new kitten. It sounds like she'll want a de-worming scientific care.

Isolate the kitties from each other and assure each one that they are safe using soft cutesy voices. The new kitty senses the other kitty even when it's not around because that one has already left its scent germs on the furniture using the sides of its mouth. So already it is intimidated by the other cat's presence. Let the new kitty get used to things, then slowly introduce the older kitty until they get acquainted.

When I got my kitten she went inside the couch (it was a sleeper) and stayed there for hours, mewing the whole time. I was afraid to open it and get her, because I couldn't see where she was and didn't want to squish her.
Just ignore him. Cats are very teritorial and it takes them a long time to adjust to all the new sights and smells of a new home. Especially if there already is a cat there.

put some food beside sofa to draw it out and be Very gentle make slow easy steps towards it and when you pick it up cuddle it and it will know eventually you wont hurt it these things take time Keep cats separated until your new one gets used to its new surroundings may take a few days or more maybe keep new kitty in your room with litter and food to keep other cat from scaring it more and continue to cuddle it and eventually slowly you can introduce them to each other but do it slowly also Good Luck

give it a week and the kitten will be relaxed. make sure to give it lots of love and don't forget to give your older cat the same amount of love because you don't want the other one to feel left out. then once the cat starts to come out don't worry if they start to fight because the older cat has to let the new kitten know who is boss, and the new one will hold it's own. in time they will grow to love eachother. if they don't thats okay. just make sure that you give it lots of love to both. good luck!

Let them work it out over their own time. Let the one under the couch stay there. DO NOT WATCH IT. A watched pot never boils. She is scared, let her get used to where she/he is. As for adjusting with the other cat, let them work that out, keep them in a room together with a supervisor, and make sure they get to know each other. DO NOT FORCE THEM TOGETHER. It will come in time.
