Maybe you are just or rather, still, feeling lust or infatuation? Or maybe the feeling is yet to grow?
But, based on my experience, if you love someone, you will feel very special. I fell in love once and am still in love with the same person. Whenever I am with her, I feel like I am the luckiest person on this world and I can do anything I want. I feel like protecting her. I feel that my world is perfect with just her on my side. It is a wondeful feeling. But, yeah, my feeling towards that girl grew after 4 years I first met her. So, I can tell that love takes a very long time to grow.

It's likely because the relationship has become stagnant, or you have matured a little and don't feel the same way you did back when the two of you started going out.
Either way, talk to him about it. It's likely that he feels similarly. Together, the two of you can decide whether to try and save what you have or go your separate ways.
