She does look unhealthy, and 73 pounds is underweight for someone at 5'3". She could have other problems, though... like maybe digestion problems or she can't keep food down. But I wouldn't rule out anorexia or bulimia. Do you eat meals with her? If so, does she appear to eat, or does she just shuffle her food around? Does she make excuses to not eat (like, "I'm eating at Sally's")? If she does eat, does she run to the bathroom soon after the meal? If she does any of the above, there is a chance she may have an eating disorder. If you feel it could be a problem, I would talk to your parents about it, or someone you can trust, and tell you how to take it from there.

well you will know if she is anorexic. I am vegetarian and when i first turned vege my mum worried that i was going to go anorexic so i went to the nutritionist. She helped me with what to eat and things. she told me that when you are anorexic your fingernails will go all snapped and broken and old- looking, your look will change as in what you wear. like if you were in high-hills you might change to converses if you get what i meen. Of course she will be thin and the only thing she thinks about is excercise and the way she looks. also her hair colour will change and her face. you will start to see her bones and look at her hands. do they look like you grandmothers??
i hope i have helped you a bit. you would be very worried about your sister. Take thsi advice: tell your gaurdian/parent or whoever looks after you and tell them you are worried and tell them to book your sister to go see a nutritionist.
good luck

well...she is only 13. if she's not worried about her weight or eating then she's fine. look for how she treats her food, does she stare at it, picking at it, eating carefully, or does she just eat it? does she seem to make her life revolve around food? i guess every once in a while you can ask her if she wants some ice cream of something. if she says no after like many times, then be a little suspicious. but...i don't know, many people who are 13 look like this, so for now, just watch her habits.

She does look very thin!
But if she is anorexic - I can't say.
Here are a fews signs you can look for n check if she is a victim of this devastating eating disorder...god forbid.
The defining signs and symptoms of anorexia are:
an intense and irrational fear of body fat and weight gain,
a determination to become thinner and thinner, and
a misperception of body weight and shape to the extent that the person feels fat even when underweight.
dramatic weight loss; refusal to maintain the minimal normal body weight for one’s age and height
basing self-worth on body weight and body image
frequent skipping of meals, with excuses for not eating
eating only a few foods, especially those low in fat and calories
making meals for others, but not eating the meals themselves
frequent weighing of oneself and focusing on tiny fluctuations in weight
wearing baggy clothing to cover up thinness
excessive focus on an exercise regimen
frequent looking in the mirror for flaws
avoidance of social gatherings where food is involved
even when thin, complaining about being overweight
in females, missing three consecutive menstrual periods; in males, decreased sexual desire

Hon...yeah definitely. Go to a physician with her, and fast. Some sort of Rehab center is in her future. I would take action now before it gets worse.

she is quite slim. you can tell because her neck bones are very noticeable and her ribs are showing.
get her some sort of fatty food every saturday. like macdonalds and KFC. Also make her eat lots of small portions of food so she does not feel like she is eating so much.

Some people are just realllllly skinny. but you can never be too careful. You should watch her eating habits and things, or look on the website.

I think you could go to WebMD.com and find out the symptoms and then find out the average wait for a teenager that age. That is what i recommend.
