I often leave my cell phone, ipod and nintendo DS plugged into their respective wall socket battery chargers, even if it says they are fully recharged. The question is, do the chargers still continue to use electricity even though the electronic item is recharged. Should I take more care and unplug them once I see they are recharged?

They do use energy even if the device being charged is disconnected. You may notice that some of these chargers will get quite warm if left plugged in when no device is being charged. That is energy being wasted. When a fully charged device is connected, a slight more amount of energy is used because the battery is slowly discharging and the charger continuously replenishes it. The amounts involved are very small, but the danger of overheating means you should disconnect chargers not in use. In addition, some batteries are damaged (reduced life) by long periods of charging after they are already fully charged.

Well when I leave my cell phone on the charger. After it is fully charged, I have noticed that when I take it off the charger after a talk or two the battery indicate would go down a little. So it's not giving the battery anymore energy. But I am thinking it's not still charging once the battery is fully charger. I hopes this helps!
