"witch" is a mistranslation. It should read "poisoner"...it was basically a way of saying you should not allow those who poison to live, and I think it meant not only physical poison but emotional poison...saying things to turn one person against another, for example.
Unfortunately, the King James Bible translation showed "witch" and that was then taken as a mandate from God to kill anyone accused of witchcraft...which were usually wealthier, older, widows that the Church/State wanted to get the wealth from, so had them falsely accused of witchcraft.

First of all, it means that those who wrote the King James version of the English couldn't or politically wouldn't translate Hebrew worth a shyte.
The original phrase in Hebrew means "Don't let a poisoner live in the village." The idea being, when you make poisons, where do you get rid of your mistakes, or wastes, or old, rancid poisons? However, every village needs to have access to a poisoner (rats, etc), it just isn't safe to let them live in the village....
So first they edited it to be "Don't let a poisoner live.", which drastically changed the meaning; then they interpreted 'poisoner' to be 'witch'...which even more drastically changed the meaning.
Yes, some witches are into making herbal concoctions, but rarely to make poisons, and even so, amazingly rarely disposing of the wastes from that work in a manner unhealthy to the environment or the people who live nearby.
Regardless, the 'translation' was made the way that it was to justify the English version of the Catholic inquisition, and later (when midwives were legally considered witches) to justify the creation and conquering-program of the "doctors" in the early 1800-s.

The original scripture was "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live." But King James was Wiccaphobic so he changed it. It means if you meet a Witch you must kill him/her.

BTW, before you think about killing Witches you might what to look up the words "HATE CRIME". I believe it will say that, that term is applied to ANY crime done to a person because of their religion (among other things). Have fun being a convicted felon in prison the rest of your life.
