When someone smokes a cigarette or a smokestack puffs out large amounts of smoke, where does it all go? Where does it go when we can't see it in the air anymore? Just curious.

It dissapates into the surrounding air. If you were to take a sample of the air after you stopped seeing the smoke you'd find trace amount still in the local air. Really it's just spreading out and after a certain point it spreads so thin you can no longer see it.

Smoke is a mixture of tiny dust particles and gases such as carbon monoxide. The dust particles eventaully fall back to earth and the gases are dissipated within the atmosphere.

it dissolves, so all the air in the room gets equal portion of smoke in it. one cigarette just gives too little smoke to make it visible.

but you can see it when people smoke too much in the room
