Yeah, this is an interesting point. My late father in law, who was in the USMC in the Pacific would never own anything Japanese. He had fought at Cape Clouchester, Peleliu and Okinawa. He hated the Japanese. But he drove a VW.
I had a Jewish boss who would own nothing German. He had a Camry.
I guess hate is very specific. My dad, however, served in Europe in WW 2 and had no problems with anything German.
I try to avoid buying anything made in China because of their persecution of Christians, specifically Catholics. But with Americans buying so much from the Chinese, that gets hard.

Because they got over it. That and the fact that many of those vehicles aren't actually made in Asia (like my Honda that was made in England). I had a relative who was a Japanese POW. He wouldn't own anything Japanese for a long time but he finally put aside.
In regards to Korea, the Korean war vets didn't fight the South Koreans, they fought to defend the South Koreans. Why should they harbor anything against those people. Besides, like the Japanese models, many of those Korean cars are now being made in the US.

Because WWII and the Korean war were a long time ago and besides a lot of the vets don't have a lot of money because of the time they spent in war. Their chance to become someone was thrown away when they joined the army. I respect many of the war vets for that because they gave up their life for ours. These men mostly do it for the money. They don't have a lot of money and are working on minimum wage if they even are working.

Lets see, WWII was over in 1945, if the average age of the veterans at that time was 26 (it was) then they would average about 88 years old. Yeah they probably buy a bunch! The Korean vets are about 8 or 9 years younger so they are really keeping them companies in business.

Why do former Vietnam Vets visit Vietnam, they got over it, however current trading partners are all former enemies , including France And Great Britain (French and Indian Wars in North America and Great Britian during the Revolution), which is why I would never advise fighting for this country, someone will be making $$$$ on your grave 20 or 30 years after you're dead., in some cases sooner.

I would take a guess, and venture combats vets stopped buying into government patriotic bullshit long ago. The United States Army is used for the sole purpose forcefully making countries accept/friendly(don't ask for taxes or impose environmental laws) American business promote/force trade agreements or to excerpt control over a region of major wealth (OIL) or of strategic interest. (bases to intimidate).
So getting tired of seeing vets return home to fight for things they will never be a part of, and Wait as time and time again the government tries to cut programs, care, housing spending in general for these vets, until the next war rolls around.
Despite all the rallying in Washington America has never after the war of Independence, the civil war was civil..every other was an act of aggression. the conquest continue...Century after century wiping out whole populations in the pursuit of wealth in the name of God.

Because they look at what they can buy with the money they have available and often find the Japanese cars are more reliable and a better deal than the American and European made cars? What else should they base their decision on? (Of course, I can never figure out what's more American anyway, a Nissan made in Tennesee or a Ford made in Mexico.)

You don't make enough money, have enough money, or spend enough money to affect the economy. The sad reality is that you could die and burn all your assets and the world would probably not recognize. As a majority player in the USA you are worthless, 2% of the people in the USA control 98% of the wealth... Buy whatever you want and no one would care....

Because they are cheap and they last forever. ( Well, 15 years at least ) Soon Toyota will over take General Motors. Why? Because they make great cars.

Because in North America, they make substandard vehicles at inflated prices. Seniors (vets) like the best bang for their buck.
