Saddam could have got the nuclear weopans, if India agreed to his request. But India refused because its own weapons were there for defending its nation,it did not want nuclear weapon in the hands of a dictatar. Internationally renowned nuclear physicist Raja Ramanna is among those who have met Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, but is not unduly keen to recollect the encounter.
The former member of Parliament met Hussein in Iraq in 1978.
Dr Ramanna, who once headed the Atomic Energy Commission, reluctantly revealed that the meeting took place at the invitation of the Iraqi leader.Hussein apparently invited Ramanna as he wanted to enlist the help of India's premier scientist to develop Iraq's nuclear prowess.
When he got there, Ramanna was given a grand tour of Iraq's nuclear facilities. Later, Hussein made an offer to the scientist to work with him and help make Iraq a nuclear power to reckon with.
scientist commited to be silence and quiety next morning left Iraq.

India people honest?. C'mon. I've been many times in India. Inside the Bombay Airport, one Indian borrowed my gold pen to write something on his documents. I was busy checking on my luggage. When I turned around, the guy was already gone. On another instant, at the rest room of a shopping mall in New Delhi, I placed my cell-phone on top of the urinal. When I'm done, I got out of the rest room. After a minute, I remembered that I left my phone. I ran back to the rest room. But the phone was already gone. These are just a couple of my long list of bad experiences while in India. I'm not saying that you or many Indians are dishonest. But for you to say that India is one of the honest nations of the world... Are you promoting "Incredible India"?.

and by the way, i bet Hussein didn't offer them aloooooooooooooot of money, otherwise "india's premier scientist" would of hand delivered the nuclear weapons to Him.
No disrespect to indians, but i bet there are millions of dishonest indians in india.
