I watched a rented DVD at a friend's house. Her cheap player had started causing ALL of her DVD's to fade to a darker screen while playing, to jump, and to skip somewhat. We weren't able to finish the movie, so I took it to my house and put it in my player (an expensive Sony player). The DVD did the same thing in mine!!!

Remember now, ALL her DVD's were doing this - not just this one.

I had never had ANY problems whatsoever with my DVD player before this! I went and rented some more new release DVD's and when I put them in my player, they started doing the same thing as hers again!!!

HOW COULD A PROBLEM WITH HER DVD PLAYER GET TRANSFERED OVER TO MY PLAYER?!?!?!

This makes no sense to me at all, but it has happened somehow. I love my player - it records and plays CD's. I can't afford to buy another one right now. Please Help!

FYI - Her player is only a few month's old and I've had mine for about 3 years....

My suggestion is that that DVD is defective-and it causes the "tracking," the fine tuning of the player to set in a range far out of normal. If there is any way to discharge the memory, a reset button or something, that would work. Since the DVD doesn't actually touch anything, I do not see it being anything other than the tracking function.

To Watch DVD's on my Laptop i use ACER arcade it can go full screen width and has great picture quality, i suppose that might depend on the computer though!
