Don't leave your friends, but keeping mixing with all different social groups so that its not you just leaving them to hit on chicks.
They should understand that its nice to get along with people and not force you to stay with them exclusively.

Depends on the girl and the nerd. Invite the girl to hang with the nerd friends and you'll soon see if she really likes you for you or what you can do for her. (homework, term papers, etc....)
Some girls like nerds. ( I married one...only I call him a geek, as in computer...and yes I call him a geek to his face...it's not a bad term anymore...) It all depends on how nerdy you are....

Friendships almost always last longer than relationships. Just be yourself and let the girls come to you, and the really worth while girls will be able to accept all of the quirky pieces of you, and your nerdy friends too!

If their your friends they are going to still be there forever. So it shouldn't matter go with the girl. If he cares that much check your friend. Someone might be crushing.
