Remind yourself that he is six years old and looks up to you as his big sister. Do little things with him so he knows that he has your attention even if it's for fifteen minites a day. He may be acting out to get your attention. He loves you! '-0

At six he has minimal control over what he says and does. Hopefully you have more.

He is trying to carve out a niche in the family, trying to impress you or be your friend but doesn't have the social skills you have. Instead of getting worked up, step back and watch and listen. Ask yourself why is it so annoying? Are you so self centered you can't let your younger brother into your life......and actually participate in his life? Kindness and caring towards him will lessen the strain and develop a lifetime bond and respect. My older brothers did it with me....it was so different than the way my friends' treated their younger siblings.........and I'm still grateful.

You might not want to tune him out but try to see why he wants your attention. If you can figure out when he is trying the most to get your attention you may be able to tolerate him more. There is usually an explanation for actions, it just takes time to figure it out. Try a day of paying attention to him when he is asking for it, it may make your life a little happier! You would be surprised how positive reinforcement changes interactions between people, and he may stop bothering you if he doesn't get the response out of you that he is used to. Negative attention is sometimes better for the receiver versus no attention.

sometimes we get ill with those that we are around alot..because everytime you turn around there they are..but remember he might not always be there..childhood does not last for ever only for a short time.Learn to accept the fact that it is just all part of life-use understanding as a way to gain patience.Love your brother and all your family-you never don't know if tomorrow will even come.

just remember he is six years old. Half the time kids outburst or do things because they want attention. If he is doing something to annoy you redirect him. Coming into your room. Talk to him "Hey kiddo what is going on.

Little brothers are born to annoy sisters (I had one myself..he was 9 yrs younger than me.) Either play his games (and let him think he's winning.) Reverse psychology....(he won't know what you're doing.) Or get away from him when he starts.
When he's about 10, he'll start to think you're icky....and by the time he's 18 (he might) think you're Ok...(if you're lucky).

If you knew it was his last day on earth how would you be toward him.
Young brothers can be a pain at times it is part of growing up.
Take care!
