you got him right where you want him. No need to send a friend or try to tell him your mushy feelings. Keep it where it is. NEVER give more than your getting from him. You have to let a boy be a boy.
And this means you get to be a girl - a flirty girl. So do a little research on his schedule without letting everyone know. Then give yourself more opportunities to 'bump into him' on a bathroom break, or stroll past his easiest class where the teach is always asleep and he could easily get a pass to follow you if he wanted. Smile (at him) a lot and make eye contact when you have the chance (accross the cafeteria or accross the field during gym. Then just let it happen at it's own pace. This part is the most fun anyway, don't be in a rush to get your dream come true - it becomes more work and less exciting when those butterflies are gone....

First off, how old are you? Dating is a stepping stone for marriage. You may have strong feelings for this guy--but could you imagine being committed to him for the rest of your life?
If you're serious, talk with your parents first and see what they have to say about you dating. Do they think it's something you're ready for emotionally?
If they feel it's all right then ask them for advice on how to handle everything.
And if they say no, then really listen to them. Most likely they wouldn't say no to ruin your life--but because they're looking out for your best interest.

Ages would help here because of "head space" Guys go thru different phases as do the ladies. Play it cool, if he likes you and he is ready for that "phase" - girls - he will approach you.
How does he treat the others male / females because cool is kind (not a hard rock), Maybe he is presently into cars and he would swap you for a carburator. Thats why the age thing.

The staring could be a sign. Maybe a sign that he likes you or maybe that he just misses talking to you?
Try talking to him again! If you're really comfortable with him (or eventually want to be) then you shouldn't "run out" of things to talk about.
Ask him how's he's been, how he feels, and what's been up with him. Show him you care about him!

It is possible that he likes you. Your information isn't enough to tell. Just approach him, talk to him, and makes friends with him. Get to know him better. And then... just let things be natural.
