Mankind changed their mind and decided that the sense of morality displayed in the old testament wasn't working so they got back together and wrote some more fairy tales based upon what they had already heard from the Hindus and their god Krishna.

God did not change His mind. The Old Testament was the Word of God under the dispensation of law. After Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all mankind we came into a new dispensation - Grace. The New Testament is the continued Word of God in a New Era of time (Grace). Both testaments combined make the Entire Word of God and any one who "..takes away from or adds to His Word..." will inherit the punishment of Hell fire it says in Revelations.

"Old" an "new" testament are names that people gave the two set of scriptures. The "old" testament (also known as the five books of Moses or the Torah) is the original set to scriptures, which is still used by the Jews (think pre-Jesus Christ). The "new" testament is the name given to the scriptures written post JC.

Are you serious? God is never changing he was, is and will always be. Its because the old testament is one before Jesus was born, and it is the record of the law, and the new testament is after he was born and the record of the law Jesus fulfilled. Because of Jesus we no longer have to do burnt offerings. Jesus died paid the price and now we can ask for forgiviness directly through prayer instead of asking a priest.

It is said that the Old Testament exposes what sin is through the
ten commandments. It also shows us that given freedom of choice, all humans fail to keep all the commandments. Even if we sin by thought - it is considered sin.
The Bible said the wages of sin is death, even a spot of sin prevents us from entering the presence of God.
This is where Christ comes in- His blood covers the sin of all believers so that God no longer see our sins- we can now enter His presence. The New Testament describes our journey to Heaven.
