I do this to myself at least once a year. I use Aloe Gel. It helps take the sting out and keeps you moisturized. In fact, that's the whole trick of when you burn yourself, double up on moisturizing lotion on top of it. Your skin is tight right now and lotion tends to soften it and hydrate it to eleviate the pain from the tightness. If your burn is really bad in spots, pick up some Solarcaine First Aid Spray, it feels great on burns. Good luck!

There is no real way to cure sunburn. Your body just needs time to heal and grow new skin. You can use any number of products to help reduce the pain in the meantime. Aloe is inexpensive and works well, gently apply it to the burned areas. You will feel a cooling and instant but temporary relief. The aloe also helps keep the skin moist which aids in healing. You can also take ibuprofen for the pain. It will be a tough two or three days, but you'll get through it.

First take aspirin or ibuprofen...You can run fever with sunburn, and it can help with swelling also. Take it until you are out of pain. There are many cooling gels, but it has been my experience that they dry the skin making it worse after the initial application. I prefer to use lots of a really good moisturizer, with coco butter preferably. Just keep the lotion going as often as you can. It will make the skin softer, therefore lessening the pain. Also, in the really bad places, top of shoulders and face, get some vitamin e capsules, break them open, and apply directly to skin. I know it hurts badly, but it should ease off in a couple of days. Just be careful in the sun from now on, and please use sunblock next time !!!

As a fellow pasty white person I fully understand the pain of charred skin! The best thing to use is Aloe, preferably straight from the plant. But if that is not available there is such a think as aloe gel that is quite good. Noxema also feels nice on sunburned skin. After the first couple of days you should be alright, though.

I must agree with the majority "aloe vera cream", and noxema cream will help the sunburn pain. However, time will heal itself. I'm born on a tropica island, Hawaii. I 've seen so many sunburnt tourist, you should consult with the front desk girls and they usually have the best remedies before you get sunburnt...such as copper tone with coconut oil or aloe vera.

First of all, if You have any blistering, I'd go see a Doctor.
If not, (it sounds weird), put some vinegar (white or cider) onto a washcloth or paper-towel etc,... and wipe the burnt area/s with the vinegar, it hurts some at the very first, but, it really does take the 'sting' out of the burn....
Ask around, if You don't believe it-!

You should take tylenol or aspirin or ibuprofen as soon as you realize you got burned. It helps stop the inflammation. Take it as directed on the bottle for the next couple days. Drink plenty of fluids because bad sunburn dehydrates your body. Find a lotion with aloe in it and apply it a couple times a day. Otherwise you're going to have to suffer it out.

several things you can do.
1.use a burn spray with aloe in it and DO NOT rub it in let it sit on where you are burned and it will cool
2. MILK put it where the burn is and you'll be glad you did and hey here's a tip... to avoid getting sunburned use sunblock. also if by chance you get sunburned alot or are out in the sun alot and your skin is hot keep that aloe burn spray handy and keep it on your skin nightly it takes the burn out and lets you get reburned for the next day but it's not so painful tanning that way
*I used some sort of jellie stuff made with aloe...my personal experience

Time is all you can give your sunburn to heal and go away. Try using Noxzema cream or an Aloe Lotion or Gel on it to help alleviate the pain. Sorry you're hurting! Get well!

Apply aloe directly off of the plant to your burn. If that is not available then refridgerate some aloe gel and apply it to your burn. Also drink lots of water, a sunburn increases your body temp and that can cause some dehydration.
