the sky is blue because when the sunlight is coming through the atomsphere(I forgot which 1) the rays are bend as u may know that when a light hit a prism all the color reflect. Here its the same concept expect that it bends in a different angle and the light that doesn't appears is blue and we see blue because blue is reflected and other colors are obsored. Basic Physics. I wish my High School had AP Physics.

The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.
However, much of the shorter wavelength light is absorbed by the gas molecules. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you. Since you see the blue light from everywhere overhead, the sky looks blue.
As you look closer to the horizon, the sky appears much paler in color. To reach you, the scattered blue light must pass through more air. Some of it gets scattered away again in other directions. Less blue light reaches your eyes. The color of the sky near the horizon appears paler or white.

The color of our atmosphere is blue when reflecting sun light. On Mars, for instance, during the day the sky is actually pink.

i asked many different people: mom, dad, science teacher, principal, the cash register guy at wal-mart, the list goes on
they all gave a long complicated explination. i would just nod and in the end i would say, "now i know why the sky is blue!" but i honestly have no idea
my answer is: same reason why grass is green

The color of the sky is blue because the atmosphere scatters shorter wavelenght light (blue and violet) more than longer wavelength light (red), and thus we see more of the scattered blue light.
