what beliefs of Jehovahs Witnesses set them apart as different fromother religions.
1) Bible: FWe believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of GOd and instead of adhering to a creed based on humaan tradition we hold to the Bible as the standard for all our beliefs.
2) God: we wrship Jehovah as the only true God and freely speak to others about him and his loving purposes toward mankind. Anyone who publicly witnesses about Jehovah is usually identified as belonging to the one group "Jehovahs Witnesses"
3)Jesus Christ; They believe not that Jesus Christ is part of a Trinity but that as the bible says he is the sone of god the first of Gods creations that he had a prehuman existence and that his life was transferred from heaven to the wonb of a virgin Mary that his perfect human life laid down in sacrifice makes possible salvation to eternal life for those who exercise faith;that Christ is actively ruling as King with God given authority over all the earth

In most ways Jehovah’s Witnesses are like everyone else. They have normal problems, economic, physical, emotional. They make mistakes at times, for they are not perfect, inspired, or infallible. But they try to learn from their experiences and diligently study the Bible to make needed corrections. They have made a dedication to God to do his will, and they apply themselves to fulfill this dedication. In all their activities they seek guidance from God’s Word and his holy spirit.
It is of vital importance to them that their beliefs be based on the Bible and not on mere human speculations or religious creeds. They feel as did the apostle Paul when he expressed himself under inspiration: “Let God be found true, though every man be found a liar.” (Romans 3:4, New World Translation) When it comes to teachings offered as Biblical truth, the Witnesses strongly endorse the course followed by the Beroeans when they heard the apostle Paul preach: “They received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11) Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all religious teachings should be subjected to this test of agreement with the inspired Scriptures, whether the teaching is offered by them or by someone else.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in the Bible as the Word of God. They consider its 66 books to be inspired and historically accurate. What is commonly called the New Testament they refer to as the Christian Greek Scriptures, and the Old Testament they call the Hebrew Scriptures. They rely on both of these, the Greek and the Hebrew Scriptures, and take them literally except where the expressions or settings obviously indicate that they are figurative or symbolic. They understand that many of the prophecies of the Bible have been fulfilled, others are in the course of fulfillment, and still others await fulfillment.
Jehovah’s Witnesses? The way they refer to themselves. It is a descriptive name, indicating that they bear witness concerning Jehovah, his Godship, and his purposes. “God,” “Lord,” and “Creator”, like “President,” “King,” and “General”, are titles and may be applied to several different personages. But “Jehovah” is a personal name and refers to the almighty God and Creator of the universe. This is shown at Psalm 83:18, according to the King James version of the Bible: “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.”
The Scriptural account that Jehovah’s Witnesses draw on for their name is in the 43rd chapter of Isaiah. There the world scene is viewed as a courtroom drama: The gods of the nations are invited to bring forth their witnesses to prove their claimed cases of righteousness or to hear the witnesses for Jehovah’s side and acknowledge the truth. Jehovah there declares to his people: “Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am Jehovah; and besides me there is no saviour.” Isaiah 43:10, 11, American Standard Version.
Some 6,000,000 persons today who are telling the good news of Jehovah’s Kingdom by Christ Jesus in over 235 lands and 99,000 Congregations worldwide feel that they properly refer to themselves as Jehovah’s Witnesses.
With Bible Studies, we will use any Bible that the person may have, King James, America Standard, Catholic, etc, etc, you may have heard that we have our own Bible, and that it is the only one we will use, that is not true, the TRUTH can be found in any Bible, I personally have a King James Bible with me at all times in the Ministry because many people prefer that version of the Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses are an international religious denomination that believes they are the restoration of first-century Christianity. They are well known for their preaching, evangelistic and publishing activities. Their most widely-known publications are the religious magazines, The Watchtower and Awake!. The international headquarters, located in Brooklyn, New York, is directed by a Governing Body. Each congregation is overseen by a group of elders, which is appointed by representatives of the Governing Body. Official membership of the organization, counted as those who preach each month, is estimated to be about 6.5 million.[1]
The central theme of their preaching is God’s Kingdom with Jesus Christ as its king. The Witnesses believe this kingdom government began with the Second Coming or presence of Christ. Originally this was believed to have occurred invisibly in 1874 but this date was later revised to 1914. Many of their early beliefs were similar to other 19th century Adventist groups, but they have since developed a unique eschatology and dogma. The Bible is considered to be the inspired word of God with the New World Translation, produced by the group in 1961, believed to be the most accurate translation available. This translation has garnered extensive criticism by scholars. Other teachings include the recognition and use of God's personal name, translated as Jehovah in English, is vital for acceptable worship. They also teach that Jesus' death was necessary to atone for the sin of the first man, Adam, opening the way for the hope of everlasting life for mankind. Jehovah's Witnesses reject traditional doctrines such as the Trinity, eternal torment in hell and the immortality of the soul. Also taught is that only 144,000 people will receive eternal life in heaven with Jesus Christ. In the coming war of Armageddon the wicked will be destroyed and the survivors will form a new society and live forever in an earthly paradise.
Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to become involved in social, religious, or political conflicts. They are also well known for their refusal of blood transfusions. Members who are found guilty of gross misconduct and are deemed unrepentant are disfellowshipped or excommunicated by a religious tribunal. Typically, members are required to shun former members. Any disfellowshipped person can appeal for reinstatement if they are found to meet criteria set forth by the organization. The practice of shunning and excommunicating has been met with criticism as an arbitrary practice.

These facts about Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps relevant to this question. The more one compares this Christian religion with others, the more remarkable it is shown to be.
1. Jehovah's Witnesses have no paid clergy. Yet they remain tightly organized with more than 6.5 million active Jehovah's Witness preachers (about 16 million associate themselves with the religion). Even fulltime preachers and workers at their branch offices are unpaid volunteers.
2. There is no elite class among Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the few 'anointed' among them enjoy no special privileges in their congregations on earth. An anointed person (one of those relative few with a heavenly hope) is not elevated above his fellow congregants in any way, and he may not even qualify for appointment as a simple 'deacon' or elder. There are no titles; EVERYONE is addressed as 'brother' or 'sister'.
3. No person benefits economically from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Even the 8 to 20 men who serve on their Governing Body receive simply room, board, medical care, and reimbursement for certain personal expenses according to the exact same provision as every other branch volunteer.
4. About a hundred men have served on Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body committee during the past 125 years or so. The vast majority of them have spent the vast majority of their adult lives volunteering for their organization's purposes, and the vast majority have died faithfully and near-pennilessly while still under their legal 'vow of poverty'.
5. Amazingly, Jehovah's Witnesses did not splinter as a sect from some other religion. Instead, a truly tiny but sincere group of bible students studied only the Scriptures to determine the will of God. Thus their religion remains absolutely independent of and not carrying the sins of Christendom's history, yet carries the authority of Christ's teachings.
6. Despite the distortions of anti-Witnesses, throughout their modern history Jehovah's Witnesses have refused to claim divine inspiration or infallibility for their teachings. They have pointed to the bible (and not any particular translation) as the only inspired infallible means of knowing God's thoughts. For over 125 years, their teachings have been presented as merely the results of sincere bible research by imperfect but godly humans.

IF we (JW's) are a cult, its because we follow Jesus. Who do the rest of religions claim to follow??
Jesus gave us a simple command at Matt 28:19, 20 "go there forth and make disciples of people of all the nations" so because Jesus commanded it we follow it and its written in the Bible for ALL to see and for true followers of Jesus they obey this command.
So when you roll your eye's at us, you probably would have done the same thing to Jesus.
So again we follow only the teachings from the Bible, we follow Jesus Christ as the head of our congregation and we worship his Father, Jehovah, as the only True God.

I am getting tired of people calling us a cult. look up the word. a cult worships man and lives in one state. we live in our own homes and we are a worldwide brotherhood in 235 lands. we worship Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ. we have this beautiful book about the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived about Jesus Christ. people think we don't worship Jesus, but without Jehovah there would never be Jesus Christ. learn what we are all about at www.watchtower.org. people know nothing about us and rather tell lies about us. we can not and will not change anyones religion. that is between you and Jehovah God. we do what Jesus commanded us to do at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. it is also in the king james bible. read ps 83 verse 18. we are the only ones who use God's name. Jesus told us to use his Fathers name. Jesus is not God, he prayed to his Father in the heavens. he said the Father is greater than he is.

As you may or may not know, Lord means God.
Look at Deuteronomy 10:17 in your NWT:
For Jehovah YOUR God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the God great, mighty and fear-inspiring, who treats none with partiality nor accepts a bribe,
As you can see, your NWT says Jehovah is God and Lord. Same thing.
Now read Philippians 2:9-11
"For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."
As you can see, your NWT also says that Jesus is Lord, that Jesus is God. (NOT "a god" as the NWT wrongly states in John 1:1)
Do you do what the NWT says you should do? That is, do you "openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord"?
Do you openly confess that Jesus is the Lord God Almighty ??
In John 20:28, Thomas crys out to Jesus "My Lord and my God!"
You have the chance to open your heart right now to Jesus and cry out to Him, "my Lord and my God" .... please do it.
Jesus is God made flesh!
Jesus is the Lord God Almighty!

They are a quasi christian cult that deny the deity of Christ. In order to support their wrong doctrines they had to write a new bible, the one that everyone used for 1900 years just wasn't working for them.
