we believe in the spirit world, and the power that makes spells work is a combination of spirits, our own spirit, and the divine--spels don't always work or work the way we think they should, and while it is possible to use magick for evil, it is forbidden by the wiccan rede

Most Wiccans believe in a place called the Summerland, a place where it is always summer and peaceful, where the soul rests until it is reincarnated.
Spells don't always work, no. As for where the power comes from, Wiccans (and indeed many Witches) see the power as being all around us. Magic is everywhere, in the very air we breath, the ground we walk on, flowing through our veins. It is our own personal power.
As for bad spells, you have to understand that it depends on your point of view. First of all there is no bad magic. Magic is magic, period, a tool like any other. Second, what may be a good spell to one person may be a bad one to another. Like a spell to attract love, or a binding performed on a rapist. Those are considered very "gray" area spells.
For the most part though Wiccans go by a very strict code of ethics and focus their magic more on healing and such. If you are asking if Wiccans would cast a spell to kill their neighbor's dog or give someone chlamydia, the answer would likely be no.

Ok, Wiccans believe many different things, it all depends on the person. Some things I can tell you is that many Wiccans believe in reincarnation. Also, the power behind spells comes from the energy in the person or people casting the spell along with the energy from nature and the Divine/Spirit. Finally, if the person is a TRUE Wiccan, they cannot cast bad spells. Physically, they can, but by the Wiccan Rede we are to "Harm None". That means, not physically, emotionally, etc. It also includes not harming one's self.
Blessed Be.

1. Wiccans can either go to Springtimeland (their paradise) or they can be reincarnated.
2. The powers come from within and the Goddess. No, not all spells works (it depends on the difficulty of the spell and the experience of the witch or wizard).
3. No, not all wiccans cast bad spells. I believe they are taught to hold back on curses and hexes since they have something called the "Three Times Rule". It's a rule where if a wiccan casts a spell of any kind, the effects will hit you back three times over.
If you want to find out more on this stuff, you can find it in a couple of good books. I don't know which ones exactly, but you could start in either amazon.com or barnes and nobles.com.
There are such things as good witches.

Wiccans specifically believe in something akin to heaven called The Summerlands, where one goes to rest, review their life lessons and prepare for the next life.
All magic comes from within. No, not all spells work and there are a number of reasons that they may not.
Wiccans in particular do not believe in casting what you call "bad spells". They believe that what you send out will return to you times 3.
No one here is trying to recruit you, so you don't have to worry as to whether it's a turn off or not. We're simply answering your questions.

Yes, of sorts, most wiccans believe they go to a place called Summerland before being reincarnated, the "powers" are believed to be natural and resident in everyone, but under-utilized by the general populace. Finally, not only do most Wiccans not " do bad spells", some don't use magick at all.

Yes, we do believe in an afterlife. I can't really explain what it's like, it's more of an ethereal thing than an actual physical place.
The power behind the spells comes from our own energy and the earth itself.
Wiccans can cast bad spells, but it isn't wise because of the law of three: whatever you do will come back to you three-fold. I only cast "good" spells (healing, peace, love, that sort of thing) and yes, they do work (but not always).

Goodness, when will people stop assuming Wiccans and other Pagans just sit around doing spells (which are really no more than prayers) all the time? The majority of us don't. Don't listen to everything you hear!
