This past week I have felt shoots/pangs of stinging and pain inside my body and on the surface of the skin when i make sudden movements. These pains are about an inch below the incision. The area is NOT red or warm so it does not seem infected. Does anyone know whats going on? I havent had feeling on the surface of my skin there since the surgery because nerve endings were cut... Could the pains mean they are coming back? HELP!!

You should at least call your doctor and tell him your concerns. I'm sure you can get his or her personal number. It's important that you consult a professional before you leave for vacation.

OK...Guess it's my job to tell u to take the time....There are alot of places you can call on the telephone for Medical advice. Even calling your Doctor, should patch u in2 an Advice RN. These people are imminently qualified to help you on the phone. They will ask you about any medicine u r taking, the duration of the pain...the type of pain...shooting, stabbing, etc. They will ask u 2 'rate' the pain on a 1-10 scale. Please, please, make the call...they can help u a gr8 deal...even on the phone...This is what they do.,...all day long..call them & let them do their job...I would encourage you to not lift anything remotely heavy, like a suitcase. DO NOT strain yourself, even for a bowel movement. If u ignore this; it is possible it can elevate in2 something not good. Your body is a gift...treat it with some respect...please..for your own sake...

I'm a nurse. This is alarming, I would call the doctor. Are you taking it easy? If not, that could be the problem. Inform the doctor of your symptoms. It could be that the pain medication isn't working for you. It's hard to pinpoint it without seeing it for myself. I hope this helps, see the doctor.

To me it seems like the surgery didn't work right. All though I could be wrong. You need to go back and tell your doctors how you feel. There really the only ones that can answer this question. I'm sure you will be alright.

I had the very same issue some time back, after my second re-
pair.
I'd contact your surgeons office & express your concerns.
Some pain & discomfort is to be expected.
My thoughts are, that unless you are experiancing some severe
pain or other issues, then don't worry.about it at this juncture.
I WOULD HOWEVER,contact the DR.s office & give them a
heads-up.
