Wrap it in cheesecloth soaked in brandy, rum, or whatever alcoholic liquor you want. (Since you're never going to eat it, it really doesn't matter, does it.) Put it into one of those holiday tins and paste the date and the giver's name on bottom of the tin. Put it on the top shelf of some closet. If you ever find it again, up to once per year, repeat the previous instruction, unless its gotten moldy. If it gets moldy, you tell the person that gave it to you, "Gee, I was just aging the fruitcake, but I must have done something wrong. It got moldy and I had to throw it out."

If you remember, you can leave it in your will to your least-favorite relative. If not, when your time comes, your descendants will clean out your house and find it, and say, "Gee, I wonder if Grandpa Crusher forgot this was here." Who knows, someone might even eat it.

Else, sell it on e-Bay.

Have a Fruit Cake Toss for the kids in the neighborhood. Just see who can throw it the farthest. Give prizes! I got one from my Aunt and that is what I did. The kids had a great time!

Do you need a spare tire for your car?
How about a rock for curling?
Perhaps something to fill in that pothole in the driveway...
Actually there are some very good fruitcakes available but not alot...never eat any that come from wal mart or any big box store..

Why waste it? I don't eat it. I get 2 Hockey Sticks and BOY, do we have a blast! We just go down the Street and have ourselves a "treat". This way we can tell the person who sent this to us, "We TRULY enjoyed the fruitcake!" In addition, the birds are able to eat the crumbs once the fruitcake has began to get disintegrate during the Hockey game. Talk about multi-tasking with a Fruitcake, huh?

Give it to a food pantry. I read about someone here who made a tradition about passing it amongst family members wrapped cleverly and no one ever know who would get it next...it became a hit of a game.
