Just ignore his whining and spend time with whoever you want, whenever you want. You have a life, and you should be allowed to live it.

Do you mean smothering you as in he won't give you space or actually smothering you? I would tell him you need your space sometimes and if he can't respect that he doesn't need to be with you. If he's really smothering you you need to get some help because that's not good

i'm in the same situation. i'm not totally sure what to do either. but it depends if u really like this guy. if his clingyness is bothering u that much maybe u should just break up with him and move on. u don't want guys that are 2 clingy ur young and should experiment with other people. if u like him a lot just take the clingyness as flattery, at least u know he'll never cheat on u. just tell him that u want a little space.

Let him know, he deserves to know. He obviously likes you a lot and would not want to jeopardize your feelings for him by overdoing it (smothering you). If he knew that if he just backed off a little and you would be happier then he might actually do that and give you space to breathe.

Tell him. Be kind but firm. Say that you care about him but you need some space too to pursue other interests. If he doesn't get it then keep telling him until he does. After awhile he will understand or he's not the guy for you.

So you need more space? just sit him down let him knwo you really enjoy being his girlfriend and the time you spend together is great. however you need some alone or down time for yourself and make sure he undrestands your not pushing him away you just need some girl time for your own things to do. but that he's still very much part of your life and relationship.

I really don't know what to tell u ,but if he really loves u tell him u need some space(but DONT break up with him) if he loves u he will understand!
