I believe that every human in this world wants to believe in a higher power, whether they admit it or not it's up to them.

Atheism means without theology which implies you don't believe in anything beyond the natural world, so it seems inconsistant to me. OR, I guess you could define "fate and serendipitis events" as part of the natural world. Whatever you like, it's just as valid as any other belief.

no not necessarily, You could call it extreme coincidence as well, that doesn't necessarily mean you believe in a higher power. Although people of faith would share your belief that there is fate, and serendipidy , which they may attribute to a higher power, or some 'outside force'

If you believe in fate, you are close to believing in a higher power IMO.

serendipity and fate seem to go hand in hand with a supreme being of some sort creating those fortuitous circumstances.

I don't think you can be an atheist yet believe in fate.
But you know, you don't need to be restricted in your beliefs by the labels invented by others. Just be someone who doesn't believe in god, but does believe in fate.

I though being an atheist simply meant you do not believe in God. A "higher power" as you put it does not necessarily refer to God.

no and I would not consider the good side of humanity or probability on the good side to be the acts of a deity either.
