My boyfriend told me I lecture him all the time. Every time he does something I don't like or I precieve as hurtful or neglectful toward our relationship. I let him know. He said I over analayz everything and put thoughts and words into his mouth that don't exist. Will someone please give me examples of lecturing a person and if I am how can I spot myself so I can stop it.

You take the good with the bad. You can't be his mama, daddy, uncle, sister, cousin, brother, aunt, preacher, etc...you are his woman. You are by his side, not above him. He's as grown as you are...it's OK to give advice, but it's how you give it and how often.
If you find yourself always analyzing him and putting words in his mouth, sounds like you need to find another man, because he's not up to 'your' standards..someone else will appreciate him.
Good Luck

It is hard to say what a lecture consists of. I think it may be construed as any convo that goes something like this: "you shouldn't say those things because it really isn't very nice".

You have to realize that the average man speaks 7000 words a day and women speak 20000. We are just more verbal than them. Also, guys are not used to discussing their feelings as we are. This is hard for them to get used to doing, especially if he hasn't spent tons of time with a girl.

How often do you say can you, could you, will you, why dont you, or do you just say do it, or hurry, or when are you going to, any of these things so some may sound like lecturing, not just the commands of a normal americian girl....
