It tears me up every day thinking of the 3000 U.S. soldiers that have died. I am frantic because my son, A Proud Marine, just got informed that he is going over in Jan. 07. Do i feel satisfied by Saddams' death? No, i wish the hell that 3000 Americans were still alive and i wish that Saddam had never been born!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of feeling were you expecting? Besides, what you should be feeling good about is not so much what happened to Saddam but that Iraq had a working court system that held a just trial. That is a huge accomplishement and each one of those 3,000 made a contribution to the effort to help get Iraq on its feet.

So, ...did you think that it would?

I am assuming from your reference to American Soldiers that you are also an American?

Saddam's execution was not about Americans. It was about justice for the Iraqi Shiites and Kurds who suffered under his brutal regime. Sometimes seeing justice served is the only way some victims find closure for their ordeals.

Take comfort in that many Iraqis are satisfied.

thanks, and a darned good statement, but, I sure am disappointed at how some people will or can be so cruel as to want other humans killed , and would even pay to watch it, some thing is definitely wrong with this picture, as this is certainly not the way I was raised, I have served 2 terms of enlistment in the marines and never have I enjoyed seeing some one murdered or killed,no matter if they were my enemy, and any one who thinks executions prevent others from killing , just watch the statistics, every police dept knows that right after a execution there will be a rash of murders, and no where has executions shown it is a deterrent to murder, and as you said it won't bring back anyone, but, it does show how sadistic our society is,

Saddams execution was not payback for our lost troops. He was executed for the crimes against humanity that he committed against his own people.
The execution was what some of the Iraqi people wanted and was for their benefit. Some Iraqi's feared that if he was kept alive that somehow he would rule over them again.

So you are saying that the 2 million and they believe it's actually 3 million people that Saddam murdered isn't enough to have him captured and turned over to his people so they could have justice brought to them? And you are saying that you really don't believe he had any ties to terrorism?

Is that a question? Well thanks for putting out your opinion, I most definetly agree that an eye for an eye only makes the world blind but we'll know that the dictator will no longer kill anymore of his citizens.

i think it would have been better had they deep fried him on national t.v by slowly easing him into the grease by several hooks pierced through his ear.....i dont think it would make up for all the deaths but it would have been better than a regular haning
