The only scripture that comes close to this is the one that refers to him as a mighty god in about half the Bibles available today, or Mighty God in others, like the 4th revision of the King James Bible. Don't know what it said in the previous four versions which were not Authorized by the Church of England.

Either way, it should be noted that a mighty god receives its power and existence from an almighty god. And, since the JW Bible is not the only one that does not refer to the Word as God, but as a god, in John 1, that is an open argument.

The question you should be asking is why does Christendom, while promoting the idea that Christ is God, openly ignores his requirement to keep the Memorial on Niacin 14? I will bet you don't even know how to find the day on a calender, as you were never taught it. Funny, any JW over the age of 12 does know it. Like all of the teachings of Christ, they put them first in their lives, rather than a man made holiday based on pagan beliefs. Do you think so little of Christ to ignore this one day of the year? Or do you think he was brainwashed by a JW?

Jesus is not God. Many Trinitarians use the verse in John 1:1 to back up their belief: In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was god. But this verse taken out of context does not agree with the ones that follow.
For example: (John 1:18) No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.
Also (John 1:14) So the Word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father; and he was full of undeserved kindness and truth.

Another point that can be taken from the Bible is when Satan is spoken of as being a god, this is found in 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4: If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

Now the verses in the 1st letter to the Corinthians really shows the difference between the position of the Father and the Son:
(1 Corinthians 15:24-28) Next, the end, when he [Christ] hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power. For he must rule as king until [God] has put all enemies under his feet. As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing. For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

These are just a few scriptures that state Jesus is not God but His Son. There are many more; some of my brothers and sisters have already made mention of them.

The Bible does not definitely state that Jesus is God almighty. This belief came about through the early years of Christianity. The better question may be to ask where the Bible came from and who has the authority to interpret it. I think the Jehovah's Witness have only be around for 135 years. The early Church made a very clear statement on the Divinity of Jesus in the Nicene Creed during first Ecumenical Council, which was called and convened at the request of the Roman Emperor Constantine in 325 AD.

We are very popular today, due to all the questions pertaining to Jehovah's Witnesses.

You state: "Why do you say Jesus was not God almighty when your own NWT Bible says that he was?" But you do not give any scriptures to back up your claim, I would like to know what scriptures you are referring to in the NWT.

I will give you scriptures and explain why Jesus is not the Almighty God, but is the Son of God.

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”

Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.

As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

Here is a clean joke also, that proves that Jesus is not the Almighty God.

Moses, Jesus, and another guy were out playing golf one day.

Moses pulled up to the tee and drove a long one. It landed in the
fairway but rolled directly toward a water trap. Quickly Moses raised
his club, the water parted and it rolled to the other side, safe and sound.

Next, Jesus strolled up to the tee and hit a nice long one directly
toward the same water trap. It landed directly in the center of the pond
and kind of hovered over the water. Jesus casually walked out on the
pond and chipped it up onto the green.

The third guy got up and sort of randomly whacked the ball. It headed
out over the fence and into on-coming traffic on a nearby street. It
bounced off a truck and hit a nearby tree. From there it bounced onto
the roof of a nearby shack and rolled down into the gutter, down the
downspout, out onto the fairway and right toward the same pond. On the
way to the pond, it hit a little stone and bounced out o ver the water,
onto a lily pad where it rested quietly. Suddenly, a very large bullfrog
jumped up on the lily pad and snatched the ball into his mouth. Just
then, an eagle swooped down and grabbed the frog and flew away. As they
pass over the green, the frog squealed with fright and dropped the ball,
which bounced right into the hole for a beautiful hole in one.

Moses turned to Jesus and said, "I hate playing with your Dad.

What did Moses say? He and Jesus were playing golf with Jesus's Dad or Father, if Jesus is God, how could both of them be playing golf with Moses? Jesus is the Son, Dad is the Almighty God, it is just as simply as that.

Jesus said "the Father is Greater than I am." He also refers to God as "his God." Before he died he said "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" and "Let this cup pass from before me only if its your will." So clearly the Bible as a whole and even from Jesus own mouth gives enough evidence that he served the Almighty God Jehovah and spoke to him.

Also for people that are unaware of what JW's believe, we are taught from the Bible. And if we are considered a cult for following in Jesus footsteps (because he is the one that commanded Christians to preach), then who do you follow??

First, could you post the scripture you are referring to?

Second, I thougt this was just for Jehovah's Witnesses to answer?

It is very difficult for a Jehovah's Witness to give a straight forward answer. Their entire belief system does not rest on their own individual thought process, rather it rests on the authority of the Watchtower Society. Any belief that a loyal Witness stands firm on can be changed instantaneously when a Watchtower article prints new light on a prior teaching. You would be hard pressed to hear a loyal Witness give a legitimate answer from their own thoughts and beliefs. The only ones who are smart enough to do this are opening their eyes and wiggling loose from the Watchtower's tentacles. So you see, it doesn't matter to them that their New World Perversion is an utterly erroneous translation, and that within it's pages the translators negated to alter certain scriptures to prove the deity of Christ (to support their own shaky doctrine). No matter what you present to them, they still regard the Society as their "Mother", and anything she says goes....

Different religions have different beliefs. The sooner you accept that the happier you will be.

I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I believe in the trinity. I believe Jesus came to earth as a man to save us all.

I don't believe in asking questions just to rile people up.

Simply put they are not allowed independent thinking. They are taught to answer only what the Watchtower says.

They go to bible study (in small case for their bible changes to meet their needs) weekly. To practice what to say and how to say it.
They must keep a journal of contacts they make. They must pay for all the literature they do not sell. If they do not meet quotas, they are called into for a chat.

Ask them who the members of the Translation Committee were? Odds are, they do not know. They disallowed (excommunicated) one of their top officials some years ago. Because he did not get the correct type of haircut.

This individual who will be unnamed. Was a relative of, I think
the son of one of those whose name is listed as a member of said committe.

Figure that one out if you can.
