No offense, but if you are going to attempt teaching others the Bible, maybe you should find this scripture yourself.

There isn't scripture to say a woman can teach a man. But look at this and decide: If the woman is more knowledgeable then why not? Example: I am new to the Biblical world and some lady has been studying the scriptures for a number of years; is it not better that I learn from her than to go on not knowing because of the lack of a male teacher? In an in-house Bible study I think the more experienced should teach; if a man is not that person should we accept second rate teaching or allow a lady to teach? The Bible clearly states that "...a woman is not to usurp authority over the man..." but that does not mean a heathen man from the gutter of drunkenness should teach just because he is the correct gender. I will research my Bible 4 program just to be sure I have not missed any thing - but I think you can do so provided 1) you are not lording it over the man; 2) your of a humble spirit and your intent is only to teach - not to usurp authority; 3) You have prayed about and studied the subject thoroughly. (This also applies to men who teach). The Bible does say that a novice should not teach so you have to consider where you stand there.
God Bless and Direct you as you teach God's Word!

Yes a woman can teach, no there aren't any Bible texts. The text that is probably being mis-quoted is 2 Timothy 1:12 (there are a couple others in 1 Corinthians & Ephesians). Here Paul is stating that he does not permit women to teach. There is no specific direction for anyone else to not permit women to teach. What needs to be remembered here is the time in which this was written. The role of women in the church was limited due to old customs and tradtions.
We have moved on from these (I would like to believe anyway). Biblically there are only a few roles in the church that are descouraged from being fulfilled by women. Teaching Bible studies is not one of them. If you have the gift of teaching use it! It would be a sin not to...

Please remember that the Ol Testament is for "Our learning". It is not a guide for Christians as the New Testament is. We are to live by the Law of the New TEstament.
I found in1 Timothy 2:11-13 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
This should be what you are looking for. I know that there is another instance in Acts where Priscilla taught a man that had no knowledge of Jesus in the Temple.
Have a great time studying!

Of course a woman can teach men. I know this female Saint, She has the power of God to give shaktipat(baptize with spirit).See syda.org/theguru. The bible is not the place to understand this, in jesus's day it was a mans world, women were but chattels(property) of men. Look up the great women saints of india. see www'stephen-knapp.com/articles_to_read. This is an unbiased, factual site giving the historical roots of many religions in the vedic scriptures.

easily the Bible mentions 3 sons... Cain, Abel and Seth.. also, do not u imagine this is logical that the Bible would not make element out of each human being who lived n those cases? The Lord gave Adam the order to be fruitful and populate the earth, Adam lived till the age of 830 if i'm not mistaking. The Bible not often ever element out the births of daughters contained in the "begottens". in case you imagine Adam and Eve really had 2 sons, you're gravely mistaking. The might want to have had thousands. Incest change into not as unacceptable in those cases as in those. I keep in thoughts diverse Bible thoughts the position an uncle married his niece, or a brother married his sister. you extremely ought to ascertain the massive photo even as examining the Bible... Our minds are too small to draw close the Greatness of God.

Why will none of you people, especially men, answer her question. She is reaching out for an honest answer, and she seems to be sincere. Shame on you for mocking her or for responding when you have no knowledge on this topic.
Dear lady, you do well to seek the Lord's guidance on this issue, and turning to the scriptures is the only and true authoritative source. You will find some answers by looking at 1st Corinthians chapters 7, 11, 14 and 1st Timothy chapter 2. Your efforts to obey the Lord are commendable, and you are blessed for seeking His headship.

In the old testament there are many female disciples, ie teachers. So there is no reason for a woman to not be able to teach. In fact the new testament says that it is the husbands job to take over the spiritual wellbeing of the family but if he will not, then the teaching falls to the woman.

It really depends on the situation, and what your church believes. If it is a close group of friends and everyone has "elected"that you lead you should have no qualms about it.
Best thing to do is pray about it, and have your friends pray about it. If God intends for you to lead then it will happen.
I don't know any specific verses but you could go to an online concordence to find relevant scriptures.

The idea that a woman who is carefuly studied and well read on the subject of Christianity is somehow too incompitent to teach some fool who takes it to mean whatever he wants and uses God as a universal justifier of his will I find incomphrehensable.
Women's issues are the main reason I find Christianity, and more so Islam, aborhant.
