Method 1
Use creams containing AHA's (Alpha Hydroxyl Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and "expose" the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.
Method 2
Make a lotion with equal parts of lime juice, almond oil and glycerine and apply on the face. It not only cures blackheads but the discoloring spots on the face too.
Method 3
Warm a little honey and apply on the trouble spots.
Wash off after 10-15 minutes.
Method 4
Beat an egg white stiff.
Add 1 tsp honey.
With a cotton swab apply on the face and leave for half an hour.
Rinse with warm water and pat it dry.
Method 5
Rinse your face with hot water to open your pores.
Generously saturate a section of washcloth with olive or almond oil.
Place a dab of toothpaste (not the gel kind) on the oily washcloth.
Gently and thoroughly rub the toothpaste over your nose with the oily cloth. Do it twice if you have a lot of blackheads.
Massage it into your whole face if you like. Add more oil or toothpaste as necessary.
Wait about 5 minutes, then rinse your face thoroughly with hot water and a clean washcloth.
Splash your face with cold water (preferable iced) to close the pores. Pat dry with a clean towel.

For blackheads removal you need to see this guide https://tr.im/skincare827 There are many solutions out there but most are just hyped up marketing schemes. There are simple solutions that worked in the past and still work without using chemical based solutions. I'd go as far as saying we use to many chemicals on our skin and body. The trick is to strip them away and perform basic techniques once or twice a week.
To answer your question about blackheads and skin in general. Some people have oily skin and others have dry skin. Its just a matter of doing the right thing for your skin type. A little research will help figure out what each skin type likes and doesnt like. Its not a single solution for everyone.

Steaming did nothing for me. Here's what worked. It sounds crazy, but just try it for 2 or 3 days and you'll be amazed at the difference. Make a mask of 3 parts castor oil and 1 part olive oil. Massage into face and leave on for 20 min. Then wipe off with a warm washcloth until oil is gone. You can use your regular face wash afterwards if it still feels greasy. Somehow this dissolves all the blackheads and doesn't make you break out.

boil water and take it off the stove. add a few drops tea tree oil and put a towel over your head and the pot to trap the steam. Steam your face for about 10-15 minutes and wrap tissue around your fingertips to gently squeeze that black head out. be careful that you don't press too hard as it can damage the skin and cause it to break under the skin and spread or lead to infection. And make sure that you are cleansing twice a day and exfoliating 2-3 times a week.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

Steam ur face jus to soften ur the blackheads so its easy to remove... but if u simply removed it in wrong way.. wil makes ur pores enlarge. I recommend u to leave it to ur beautician. Get a deep cleansing facial.

Biore strips are the best.
If you use a toner after cleaning your face, the blackheads will be less visible.

boil a deep pan of water. take it off the stove then put your head over it and put a towel over your head so the steam doesn't escape. dont let your face hit the sides of the pan because it will burn. wait ten minutes with your head over the pan and under the towel. then wash your fash and pull out any black heads that are sticking out with tweezers
