Only you and God can judge aright - the rest of us humans are just guessing - but could it be a matter of perspective? For example, DEATH. Viewed from one perspective it seems a terrible, terrible event - an unbearable heartbreak. But from another perspective it is a messenger of joy:
1. “The inscrutable divine wisdom underlies such heart-rending occurrences. It is as if a kind gardener transfers a fresh and tender shrub from a narrow place to a vast region. This transference is not the cause of the withering, the waning or the destruction of that shrub, nay rather it makes it grow and thrive, acquire freshness and delicacy and attain verdue and fruition. This hidden secret is well-known to the gardener, while those souls who are unaware of this bounty suppose that the gardener in his anger and wrath has uprooted the shrub. But to those who are aware this concealed fact is manifest and this predestined decree considered a favor. Do not feel grieved and disconsolate therefore …” -'Abdu'l-Baha
DISEASE is often due to years and years of unhealthy eating and consumption habits (e.g. cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, junk foods, etc), although not always. In most cases, however, it is man-induced and not pleasing to God.
2. "O SON OF MAN!
The temple of being is My throne; cleanse it of all things, that I may be established and there I may abide." -Baha'u'llah
BETRAYAL is also abhorant to God. He did not bring this upon you. This was a human choice and is a turning away from God. Hell is distance from God and heaven in nearness to God.
3. "Let your eye be chaste, your hand faithful, your tongue truthful and your heart enlightened." -Baha'u'llah
Remember the beautiful poem entitled "Footprints"? In it the author also felt as if God had abandoned him during his greatest trials, but then realized it was God carrying him through his tough times. Also, the Serenity Prayer offers great wisdom - change the things you can to improve your life and give the rest to God, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise, the All-Loving, the All-Merciful. Remember He does not test you beyond your capacity. These tests and trials are often (not always) for your spiritual development and growth.
4. "... I swear by My life! Nothing save that which profiteth them can befall My loved ones. To this testifieth the Pen of God, the Most Powerful, the All-Glorious, the Best Beloved." -Baha'u'llah
God be with you.

God bless you! I am sorry you have had such a hard time. I know that the Lord has seen your trials! I want you to know He did NOT leave you. You have suffered so much that you moved away from Him! He is waiting for you to return and say in the middle of all of this and through everything, I will praise you Lord! Give Him glory and draw near to Him. The Bible says, never will he leave you! Nothing can keep you from the love of God. He counts the hairs on your head. You are precious to Him . The Bible says that one day He will wipe every tear from your eyes and personally comfort you. I know what you are feeling because I too have suffered many things. I have learned that God allows things to happen and even though we may not know the reason, He working things out for our eternal good. Rejoice because you are a child of the Most High God and nothing you have suffered in this life can separate you from the Father's love! God bless you!

The Bible states that God will not burden you with more than you are able to bear. Obviously, He feels you are esspecially strong and incredibly able. God also says that whatever you go through in the flesh life, be aware that its not that you are being centered out and targeted by Him, that your heartaches and problems are also experienced by others.
In 1990 all my wedding invitations were sent out, my Bride gown was ordered and 250 people were invited. one month to the day of my wedding, my financee died of a heart attack at the age of 26; I was in my late 30's.- Immediately after the funeral, his best friend killed himself from grief. My dog got run over by a car. My three ginea pigs died from some weird infection. 4 of my friends three weeks later died in a car accident. I lost my job. My aunt died of meningitis. I found out my daughter had heart disease. All of this happened with a 11 week period. So believe me, I know about hurt. I refused to stop believing that God has a reason for everything. As a matter of fact, those upsetting occurances actually caused me to start studing Scripture, and now I understand that there is more to what Gods Word says than I had ever been taught in Catholic school or Church.
Please don't lose your faith. let these things build it to be the strongest ever. Please think about it. Jan

Look, in the last 5 years I have had an allergic reaction to a medication that almost killed me, that was followed by an addiction to the pain medication and mood altering meds. Then I took myself off of those and traded that addiction for an addiction to alcohol. I have had 2 cars set on fire, my house set on fir, during which I got 2nd degree burns on my foot while trying to put it out. I have almost lost my husband to divorce....so I understand disillusionment. However, I also know God is there helping me to get through all of this and he is fixing me even as we speak. I am regaining my health and my husband and I are working out our problems. Oh and this is an edited version...much more has taken place. Stand firm and ask God to help you through this and he will. It might take a while since so much needs to be fixed but it will come together.

Matthew 28:20
.....And surely I am with you ALWAYS, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 5:45
.....He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Ask God to teach you how to have faith in him. I pray the following helps you out:
Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:
--- 1 ---
God uses problems to DIRECT you.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving.
Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to
change. Is God trying to get your attention? ''Sometimes it
takes a painful situation to make us change our ways.''
Proverbs 20:30
--- 2 ---
God uses problems to INSPECT you.
People are like tea bags...if you want to know what's inside
them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested
your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about
you? ''When you have many kinds of troubles, you should
be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test
your faith, and this will give you patience.'' James 1:2-3
--- 3 ---
God uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's
likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a
hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned.
Sometimes we only learn the value of something...health,
money, a relationship... by losing it. ''It was the best thing
that could have happened to me, for it taught me
to pay attention to your laws.'' Psalm 119:71-72
--- 4 ---
God uses problems to PROTECT you.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from
being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend
was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss
had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but
it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year
later when management's actions were eventually discovered.
''You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good...
Genesis 50:20
--- 5 ---
God uses problems to PERFECT you.
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders.
God is far more interested in your character than your comfort.
Your relationship to God and your character are the only two
things you're going to take with you into eternity.
''We can rejoice when we run into problems... they help us learn
to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us
and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our
hope and faith are strong and steady.'' Romans 5:3-4
Here's the point:
God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it.
But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.

May you come to find that the peace you sought was in yourselves all along. I am sorry you have had a difficult time. God's absence is only bewildering if you have invested a lot in his being there, which you probably have. In fact what you are left with in his absence is the freedom tofind your own solutions and to work towards them rather than hope that some benign force will take you there. You are not the first to realize that that hope is wasted time. Good luck. The world is a better place without god, one person at a time.

You arent the only one to have suffering and hardship in your life. It has nothing to do with god or the lack of god.... it has everything to do with your state of mind, everyone on this earth needs to accept the fact that shite happens to all of us and nobody is being singled out or abandoned by whatever deity... life is hard and there are many obstacles to be overcome. Our strength and happiness lies in the ability to overcome it all and find happiness within ourselves without depending on external circumstances to obtain it. I could go on for days about the horrible things that have happened in my life to me and those I loved but that only leads to a downward spiral of self pity and remorse... coulda, shoulda, woulda, what if.... none of that matters the past is the past and the future is unknown what matters is seizing the present moment and squeezing every last drop of pleasure and joy from it. The problem with faith in god/s deity etc is that it implies protection from everything painful or bad and people end up dissapointed when that doesnt happen.... the truth is you need to believe in YOURSELF and your personal strength to overcome hardship only then can you be truly happy. Even in the darkest hour there is happiness and joy you just need to open your heart to see it. The sun is always shining above the clouds.....

God is not absent from your life. He is always present. Even though all these things have happened to you, it won't even matter at the end of your life. The situations don't count, it's the thoughts and actions DURING the situations that count. Of course, works can't save, but only faith inspires true works. So remember, God is not absent. He's there, standing next to you. It might be hard to see through the blur of sin, but remember it won't matter when Heaven opens its doors to you.
God bless and I'll pray you find God once again.

Moe, I am sorry things have been so bad. It sounds like you have gotten through them and for that I am glad.
It is not often that I feel authorized/ ordained to speak on God's behalf but this is one of them.
"I am deeply saddened that you feel I have let you down and abandoned you. You may never believe me but I beg you listen. I love you. The hardest thing for me is to see one of my beloved suffer. I have been there with you through every bit of it experiencing all that you experienced. I understand why you feel how you do about me. I am with you even now and I will never leave you even if you can not sense me or choose not to recognize me. Your home is with me and I will keep your place with me until you return. When I made the world I made it perfect. I know from where you sit it seems really ****** up. Alas that is the price I have had to pay and by default you and others have had to pay as well. If I made no room for human error/mistakes and bad choices, made no place for evil, made no time for happenstance the world would be flawed and would have fallen apart shortly after creation. I know you have prayed and prayed; begged, offered deals, made and even fulfilled your end for me to change things, to get me to intervene even in small ways. Much of your hurt has been for other people. You care and compassion, your selflessness and humility have touched my heart and made me proud. I know you can not trust me right now, but I promise you that I have been working behind the scenes. I am preparing for you a great gift to express my gratitude to you but, it is a ways away yet. For now all I can do is offer me and my unconditional love. I can also share with you a little of you future. This will not sound like a gift, but know that if what I say comes true in these thing, then all I have said is true. Your hardships are not over. In this next year you will feel that the very breath is being squeezed out of your body. Every bone and muscle will writhe. Your heart and head will pound against their walls. You will beg for death and the peace it promises. This will pass. You can survive it, if you want to. This will be the last of the great storms in your life. Oh, you will still have problems and heart ache from time to time but, I promise after you make it though this year the storms will seem small even when they would wreak others. I have looked at all options to prevent this last barrage of suffering from reaching you. None are right or good. Since I know you will not accept a hug from me right now, I want you to know you can punch, kick, scream and yell at me all you need to. I will take it and think no ill of you for it. I really do love you." says God.
