Many of you have been helping me with my cat, Smokey. For those of you who haven't answered anything about this, here is what happened. My cat is only two years old. Yesterday, I came home from the doctor and I looked at my cat's ear. He had a cut on it. So I called my cousin who is a vet and she said to put some antibiotics on it. So I did. This morning, it kinda looked better. Only for one thing. Well last night there was a small amount of blood on his ear and it's gone which is good but the area where his cut is or was, looks kinda like orange, not the normal color pink. Not red like swollen. Just orange. It weird! Does anyone know if that's normal or a sign that it's healing? PLZ HELP SMOKEY!!! <33333

I will stop applying antibiotics. You're right! That's exactly what it is. I will just apply hot water until it heals. Hopefully, that'll do it!!!!!!!!

i answered someone else with a similar problem, and the thing is you're not supposed to use antibiotics on cats. anti-biotics are for humans and anybody that knows anything about cats knows that if you use anti-biotics on them they will swell up and eventually burst. that is why your smokey's ear is turning orange. don't use anti-biotics on cat's!! just hose them off once and a while to keep them clean.
i used to have three cats, but ms. priss had the Yuckies and i gave her anti-biotics before i knew any better and she burst, so don't do it! please!!!

Honey, the orange color is probably from the ointment, but to be sure, here is a full proof way of taking care of any cuts or scratches. Go to the nearest store and buy a bottle of Witch Hazel. It is a clear liquid that doesn't burn and it cleans and sanitizes the area to speed up the healing. Put it on twice a day, if you can, and see if that doesn't help. If it doesn't, take you cat to the vet.

I doubt it is serioius, but you might want to have the vet take a peek again. Keep it clean and keep putting the antibiotics on though. Smokey will be OK though, nice to see paople that care about their pets!
I spare no expense on my pooch, a rescue Shar-Pei Jasmine. She got in a scrap with a mastiff once, when I pulled her off, the other dog bit her, then she bit me (should have seen her face when she realized it was me she bit LOL). Long story short, the vet loaded us both up with antibiotics (yes, I took her to the vet before getting my wounds attended to LOL) and I am the only one with a battle scar to show for it.

I think its normal. It may be a healing color. I wouldnt be worried. If it continues just take it to the vet again. I hope Smokey gets better.

Oh poor kitty cat. That sounds normal to me and it is just that color from the medicine and its nothing to worry about. But if it gets worse I would take your cat to the vet.

You're a good kitty mommy it sounds like. Nice to meet you and Smokey. I wouldn't worry about it unless it turned red, black or started to swell. Just put meds on it as needed and keep your eye on it.

may be from the ointment you put on smokey, relax as long as it is healing he'll be fine if you see puss oozing then you know he is infected.

As long as it is not red, swollen, or have puss, it is probably just bruising left over from the bleeding.
