"Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids", might be the single greatest lie in advertising history.
I am 39, and I am reasonably certain I have eaten it at least 4 times past the age of 18.
You know what? I got a taste for them now and I don't have any here. See what you did !

Because it doesn't make sense if you say "Trix are for adults" or "Trix are for teenagers" or "Trix are for preeteens" or "Trix are for the elderly" and so on.

It's a marketing ploy. By stating they're only for kids, they make it seem to children that adults are excluded from eating them. This is appealing to children who aspire to try the adult things, but are denied them, and want something unique of their own.
