Not if the NeoCons have anything to say about it. They already are near to having a strangle hold on Middle East Oil with bases or surrogates in Egypt, Yemen, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Iran is the big hold out but Cheney says they are next and we are rattling our sabres at them. The NeoCons are taking advantage of the vacuum left when the Soviet Union dissolved, and their plan is to beat everyone else to the punch. Control over Mideast Oil is a good start. China and India would then have to fall in behind in this agenda. But, the best laid plans....

It is a fact of life that as these countries mature economically that they will gain military strength. China saw what the US did to the Iraqi army back in 1991 and got busy updating their technology. India probably hasn't made that degree of progress. There really isn't a thing the US could do to change anything those two countries, or many others, are doing.

China has the largest Army in the world and India is part of the Nuke club which very few countrys have gained member ship. What makes you think that they are not already. if it was not for the fact that China and India depend on the US for economic reasons they would be causing a lot more problems already

The US would do everything to slow them down. The U.S. knows they can't so they decided to cause a conflict between the two. That was why the U.S. helped the Indians officially and unofficially with their Nukes. It is also why the U.S. is doing everything to prevent China from acquiring outside oil resources. To argue with Celtic pride, I have alway question human rights violation claims from one culture to another as being racist. I felt Amnesty International in England has no right of claiming rights violation in Eastern asia, because it basically stating that Western culture is better than Eastern. We should respect Eastern belief in Authority because it is based on Confuscious philosophy. Human rights violation should always be made from with in. Similar statements can be made about English treatment of the Irish, French of the britons and the Spanish of the Basque. Chinese treatment of prisoners can be made similarly to America where the U.S. has more prisoners even though the U.S. has 1/5 the population and also has the Death penalty and has in several cases been found to execute the wrong person. And as an American I still support the death penalty and resent the Europeans to push their culture on to me.

I am a proud Indian & says that it does not matter whether usa allow or not bcoz we r unstoppable & will not be affected by any restrictions by US.
Do u remember that in 1998 when we did 5 atomic testings, US become too angry & make many economical restrictions against us.But slowly they were all removed (because US itself was harmed by those restrictions)& now US is ready to do atomic treaty with us!!!
It might be possible that after 20-22 yrs we may be in a position to think that, allow usa to expand its powers or not. U know our(india's) progress rate is more than 9% per annum
So what do u think now???

We are positioning our troop to strategically protect a major source of energy in the middle east and when we are finished rebuilding Iraq there will be a giant American military base in close proximity to china, I don't think that is a coincidence, also we have agreed to help India with nuclear technology so I think they are considered more of an ally

Yes they will that would be a real war against targets capable of striking back. That would totally not be America's style.
I mean if they hung Saddam for his crimes Just think of what they'd do to the current and past leaders of China some of the biggest human rights violators and murderers since Hitler.

Do you really think, short of an all out nuclear war, the US has any say in the matter? Think mini-powers like Vietnam & Iraq, and how the US has fared in those countries.

well, what is the option invade them? You talk like an imperialist Japanese of 1939, thinking you are all powerful and none can stand before us...only thing we could do is nuke them...you want to lead the charge...you might as well do it on horseback with sabres. we would certainly be able to defend our country from them, but do you watch the news, we're having trouble with Iraq now.
