Yes, you can if you have income. If you're a dependent of your parents, and at 17 you probably are, you are required to file if you made more than $600. If you're just working part time though, you'll probably get back any money that was withheld for federal income tax.

You might also be required to file a state income tax return, depending on where you live.

Yes you can but you should allow your parents to claim you as a dependent then when you file check the box that asks if you can be claimed on someone else's return. This way you get back your tax without hurting your parents.

dont even try to do them on your own!!! if you must buy a computer program like turbo tax. dont try it by hand.
