For a few years, I was what is commonly known as anorexic, and I can't find a way back to food. No matter how I try to tell myself I won't gain weight or that eating won't make me fat, I still end up getting less than 1,000 calories a day.
I'm taking a Pilates class, and I have a feeling I should be getting more than 1,000 calories when I have a class like that a few days a week.
Any tips (and anything but harassment, really) would be appreciated.

i kinda understand what you are going through, i was both over weight and anorexic, i lost a lot of weight and got way too carried away, i was underweight a year later by 22 pounds. i found the easiest way to gain weight was to eat late at night and eat penut butter. i alway thought the less i ate the better so by eating very fattening food i was able to gain weight with eating very little, one cup of penut butter is aroung 2200 calories! enough for a day!

I'm not sure maybe going to some groups for previous anorexic people maybe you will get their ideas and input on how to and what to do.
Maybe Google it you might have support groups online as well and get some of their experiences on how to eat.
You might also have a High metabolism that might be also be the reason your not gaining. You could always see a doctor to check that out as well.
Good Luck! Not much help but hope some ideas could help!

Sometimes when you're "food-phobic," it's easier to supplement calories from refreshing drinks, especially healthy ones. I don't mean "health drinks," but ones like fruit drinks, green tea, orange juice, something refreshing that has a decent caloric content and isn't carbonated or bad for you. Especially if you're exercising. That's a good place to start.

well first of all congrats on getting over your illness and attempting to make yourself healthy again. i would recommend talking to your doctor or a nutritionist about what foods would get you the vitamins and minerals, etc. that you need personally to boost your health. good luck and i apologize for any dumbass comments that others may give you.

just eat fruits and vegetables
and mcdonalds
and don't starve yourself because the more likely you starve your self the more likely you'll gain more weight
when you eat something again
and who cares if you gain weight your weight always changes

i just read that Nicole Ritchie is helping herself with two protein shakes a day...why don't you start with that? Lean protein, no fat, but good for you.
