I don't understand why you're so fixated on this. I've never met a marine that complained this much. It happened. It probably happened a long time ago, judging on your questions. So no, I doubt you have any recourse for what happened.

The Marine Corps is not going to give you a bunch of money over a blanket party. They may try to take some UCMJ action against the perps, but that is going to be hard. You may be able to get some disability since this looks like it screwed you up but that is paid by VA insurance, not the MC. If you didn't have the presence of mind to bring it up after it happened then there is very little anyone is going to be able to do for you. The proof is in the pudding and you probably aren't holding a bowl of pudding right now. If it really was some conspiracy and the DI's were in on it then you may have a case but only if you have a great pro-bono lawyer and an army of investigative journalists willing to make a federal case out of this which they probably don't care since you never reported it and it was never covered up.

You are speaking in the pass tense so I can only assume you were discharged or completed your service (which I doubt, since you probably wouldn't still be upset about boot). Depending on the time involved you may have already reached the statute of limitations on this offense and you lost your chance.

What did you do to piss everyone off so much PVT. Pile? All of the guys I knew straightened out before needing a blanket party.

Wow... Lighten up?!? The Corps WILL NOT "loosen up" simply because your fellow recruits felt compelled to give you a little blanket-party! If you consider "easy" a part of your dictionary, go join the Air Force or the Army... The Marine Corps has a reputation for being the toughest and best out there! If we succumb to the whining of people like you, we would not be the best fighting-force in the world. If you truly feel like you were wronged, talk to a JAG on your base/ship and file a formal complaint. Otherwise, suck it up and move on with your life, Marine... No matter what, though: DON'T EXPECT ANYONE TO THROW YOU A PITY PARTY BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T THE MOST POPULAR RECRUIT AT THE DEPOT!!!

Serioulsy, the Marine Corps wouldn't just do that to "throw a party" per say. You must have done something very bad. But then again, even with the Marine boot camp---we all know they can seem very rude and violent but they're not ESPECIALY in boot camp.....Boot camp is just TRAINING....

on second thought, if a "buddy" from your boot camp did this to you, then you should go to your upper authorities and tell them.

COnsidering that blanket parties are strictly reserved for the biggest screw up in the division, you should spend the money you were goin gto use on a lawyer and get some help to fix your issues. Obviously you didn't complete boot camp!!!

Personally, I'd take that as a hint that you really don't need to be in the Marine Corp. While this is a tough tactic, it basically indicates that you're not fitting in. Fitting in is EVERYTHING in a military combat group.

Doubtful. Blanket Parties as I remember them were reserved for the guys who screwed up badly enough that the whole barracks had to suffer. Not saying that this was your case, but there had to be something that led up to this. Blanket parties are usually carried out without the DI's knowledge so officially, it seems doubtful you have any legal course of action.

I thought you were an old guy?

I saw two blanket parties. One for a loser and the other was given to a psychopathic bully.
