Do NOT use Locks of Love as they do not provide wigs to cancer patients. They only make wigs for children under the age of 18 who have LONG TERM hair loss, not temporary loss like you have with chemotherapy. Locks of Love also does not use all the donated hair for kids, the organization sells the hair and keeps the profit. Furthermore the wigs are NOT free for the kids but are based on how much they can pay.
If you are interested in helping cancer patients locate free hair pieces please use the following non-profits:
1. Wigs for Kids = Provides free hair pieces based on ability to pay to all children suffering hair loss. http://www.wigsforkids.org/
2. Pantene Beautiful Lengths = teamed with the American Cancer Society and Hair U Wear to create wigs for women who have lost hair due to treatment for cancer.

There are special forms of chemotherapy and distinct dosages that depend on disease form, stage, grade, the sufferers age, weight, and total wellness. Not all chemotherapy motives hair loss . . But on the whole the kind that does intent hair loss will make all hair on the body fall out. The chemo ambitions cells that divide and develop rapidly and can not inform the change between a hair cell that grows fast or a melanoma telephone that is developing. Once chemo is stopped the hair will grow again inside a month or two. Not all chemo will make your body hair fall out . .There are some chemo medicines where the hair remains but it surely removes the entire pigment from hair and it turns white (certain treatment plans similar to sunitinib or sorafibnib).

I've looked into this because I have really long hair that I plan to cut off this spring & donate. A local hairdresser can probably give you her contact number if she's affiliated wth the Locks of Love program, otherwise you can try their website, it actually has a hairpiece request form:
