It's not anything you did Sweety! You are 14 and he is 17. They dont want him getting too close to you because you may get the wrong ideas. You have alot to experience in your life yet. Him being 17 may get tempted. Ben is being smarter than most guys would be. They probably told Ben that even though he doesnt have bad intentions, you may get the wrong idea of why he is being friends with you.

Well, let's put it this way -
would your mom let you date a 17 year old right now?
My guess is no.
Trust your mom - she is protecting you from this boy who is only your 'brother' by marriage. He's too old for you - and things could get awkward if the two of you were home alone together.
p.s. It is not about any thing you might have done - I am sure!

They are probably afraid that you like each other. Maybe Ben made a confession to his dad that he likes you and Ben told his dad and his dad told you mom and....that's why Ben knows and you don't. It's a possible theory.

I think you know the answer "Ben said I was cute" and you're concerned your parents think he may be a molester--but NOT based on this remark, just something else. Good of him to not address it with you. Tell your parents to give you the broad strokes of why that want this--so they are not forced to tel you details about something they clearly don't feel you're ready to know.

14 through 17 year olds are highly hormonal, curious, and like to experiment, because you are still children with almost adult like bodies, they dont want you 2 to maybe do anything that you DEFINATELY WILL REGRET, later in life. By your comment about him saying you were cute, I think you already have an idea as to why though.

He is probably attracted to you or very aggressive with girls. They do not wan any sexual contact between the two of you. Or else, he could have been in some other kind of trouble which they do not want around you. They know what is best for you.

I may be wrong but it sounds like Ben may be homosexual. Just listen to your parents and as you get older I'm sure you will be given more information when they feel you are mature enough to understand and accept their answers.

She is afraid that Ben might take advantage of you or that you might start liking him. Since you are related it wouldn't be a smart thing to do.
