Take into account that I only read the report in the paper some time ago & I'm not that a great believer in statistics.
I, personally, don't believe the letter of the questions I ask. I just ask the quesion.

Because we have to listen to everyone complain about things that can be changed.
But yet we listen and take on the burden of wanting to help solve the problems that we have no control over.
This is just my oppinion, Women really listen and care when people talk to them about their problems. Men just want to know when the next game is on or when your going to stop talking.

Just one oppinion.....p.s. I might be crazy :]

I would be interested in seeing such a report.. where was it published? who carried out the research and it what manner was the research caried out..? these are all important questions when understanding any kind of report...

women are more likely to seek help, diagnosis, and support for mental illness than men this would account for a large difference between the figures for men and women and it does not prove for one second that women actually suffer mental illness more than men... only that they are diagnosed more often..

perhaps it is all the undiagnosed men in society that affect the women in society so greatly as to give them a mental illness...

hmmm?? Just a few thoughts on the topic..

Okay, that report is so far off. Check with the National Institutes of Health for real statistics.

Women do seek help at a church higher rate then men. Men tend to end up in jail/prison before seeking help. Men also act out their problems against others at a greater rate then women, though that is slowing becoming less true.

Men have a high rate of Schizophrenia. Depression is about equal.

Women when it comes to problems caused by sexual abuse still tend to have more problem, because more are still abused, though that too is becoming less true as more and more boys end up victims of sexual abuse.

Really ask your question of the National Institues of Health in Baltimore MD. They can really give you a more realistic view on this issue. But I know from experience, from being in hospitals myself, that women simply ask more often for help, then men do.

In the 80's I suggested to a few men with depression that they seek help. They refused, saying other men would judge them and that they felt it was a sign of weekness.

Talk to directors of mental health centers. Go talk to directors of prisons and jails. I think a better statistic is that men just seek help less often, and don't become a statistic until they kill themselves or end up in jail or prison, where their disorders, addictions, mental illnesses come to light.

I'm going to have to agree that that statistic sounds seriously fake. And then if the level is higher in women it's because most women seek help sooner and are more open to talking about their illnesses. We weren't bred into the "tough guy" stereotype that you men have been programmed with.

Are you bearing on H.R. 675: development Obama’s Civilian national protection rigidity. From Obama's own mouth, "we've to have a civilian national protection rigidity this is in simple terms as ... useful and properly-funded as our mixed U.S. protection rigidity forces..." Heres a clip of city adolescents in paramilitary uniforms marching and saluting whilst pledging help for Obama and Obamacare: (See link) who's mentally ill?

First, don't believe everything you read. Second, statistics can only be based on what is reported or admitted. Women are probably more likely to seek help for emotional/mental health issues, whereas men may try to be "macho" and handle it themselves. Why are more serial killers, murderers and rapists men? Don't you think people who commit those types of crimes are mentally ill in one way or another?

For the real reason, see the webpage below for ADVICE FOR TEENAGE GIRLS. It has how a best-selling book explains that we are living in a girl-poisoning society. Gloria steinem says that blacks and women are 2nd class citizens.

Also the page on NATURAL HEALING explains how diet is a big part of mental illness and many women have really bad diets to deal with living in a girl-poisoning society.

#1 statistic reports are bogus
#2 women report and try to get help for their problems more often then men who pretend nothing is wrong

I doubt these statists are correct. Men have a much higher suicide rate than woman (4times higher) this is because men generally do not seek help when they need it. Which would make this statistic incorrect.

not sure about the discrepancy

the main cause is that we are designed to do SO much, so many meaningful things, falling in love, having babies, defending them, getting food, warmth, etc.

these days, the main real challenges and victories belong to other people in the movies. That leads to very real frustrations. Expressed in the genes I think. People dream of all sorts of wonderful things then put in 8 hours at the factory.
