Yesterday, my lab work came back and my liver function is not good so my doctor has halfed my methotrexate dosage and I've been told no tylenol over 1000 mg every eight hours. Is there anything else I can do to enhance my liver function? Of course, I'll call my doctor on Monday, but I wondered if anyone might be able to help me. Thanks!

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

I'm assuming your doc already knows all the meds you're currently taking. If not, then s/he should be informed. Acetaminophen not exceeding 1000 mg is good advice. Refrain from alcohol and reduce consumption of mushrooms since they have very complex chemicals that the liver really has to work at to biotransform and eliminate. No strenuous workouts, avoid body contact sports, and wear your safety belts when in a vehicle. You probably already do most of these, so just let your liver recover. MTX can work wonders on RA, but it has its toxicity, so it may not be used as often as you would like.

A really good herb you can take for arthritis is called Penny wort, It grows wild in Australia and I think it grows in China, but I'm not sure.(the reason I say that is because it's a Chinese remedy, and they usually get it right when it comes to those sort of things, and they swear by it) I don't know its botanical name but it is supposed to be very effective. Of course ask your doctor before taking anything, but it's only a plant and it's not poisonous. What have you got to lose. Try the Internet, hope this helps.

Some nutritional supplements enhance liver function.
they include dendelion & milk thistle which both help to repair liver damage.
Burdock root & Red Clover also help purify the blood, which will take some of the work off your liver.
Good luck.

Broccoli has been found to contain a phytochemical called sulphoraphane, which enhances the phase two-detoxification pathway in the liver...tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene.

You should also avoid alcohol, since it is digested by the liver as well.
