Works is not a downloadable item. You have to buy it. You might try OpenOffice. It's a full featured Office type package with a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, data base and more. It's free. www.openoffice.org

As others have said, don't even bother with MS Works. It's a severely scaled down utility, and you are much better off with a version of MS Office. For economy's sake, Office 97 will do you fine. Below is a link to one on sale on ebay that will give you an idea of it, and what the prices on that program are. It's very inexpensive nowadays, but still works quite well for the average user, and is fully compatible with Windows XP. Good luck.

MSWorks comes with new PC's, and isn't downloadable. It also isn't very compatible with Microsoft office. A previous answerer recommended the free office suite from OpenOffice. I'd get that, if I were you. It contains twice as much as MSWorks, which is a very cheap version of Office.

Don't waste your time and money with MS Works, you will find that you can not take your files and share them with many others, I recommend Microsoft Word, or if you can afford it get the entire Microsoft Office, it comes with Word, Excel, Outlook, and powerpoint. Apple is now even word compatible.

MS Works comes with many pc's, but it is not free. You'd have to purchase it from Microsoft. The latest version is about $100 and can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/products/works .

Works contains scaled-down products... you might want to consider Microsoft Office instead.

You can't download it, you have to buy it. Except, i'd recommend that you buy Microsoft Office instead of works.
