Not really...think of a ray: Infinitely long, but with a defined starting point

Semantics.

Eternity literally means that it has no beginning and no end. It has already existed and so it doesn't need to have been 'created'.

But if you had studied the origins of some of these words you will find that the same root word used for eternal damnation was also used in 1 Timothy 1:17 in which it is written 'King eternal'. Here it was used as a name or title. So taken in context, eternal damnation means God's damnation. Meaning God will punish.

That sentence is then totally changed in direction and intention from what most Christians believe.

Let me tell you this, eternity is not infinity, and I'd like to know where you heard such a thing. Eternity is forever and infinity is endless making them the same and not the same at the same time for this reason: infinity describes something as endless yet eternity is something on its own. People who are headed for Hell have the decision made upon their death. So yes, people who have been set to go to Hell are in Hell regardless of the untruthfulness of your prior statement because the decision is made upon death where they are sent off to the afterlife.

Please capitalize 'Christians.'

Time is an attribute of the physical universe. Consequently, time does not exist in the afterlife, which a purely spiritual world. Eternity is that which exists beyond the realm of time.

Heaven and hell are states of beings in nearness or remotess to God, which can be attained in both this world and the afterlife.

Open your eyes and look at the global events that are happening around us all right this minute. We are all living in HELL right here on earth! But we have the choice of letting it consume us or to turn to God and His Son Jesus for inner peace and a better way of life.

actually I always understood it to be a new reality that sets in after armageddon, when heaven descends upon the earth--but hey, without the mental gymnastics none of this stuff would be any fun to think about, now would it?

My philosophy professor at university was an expert on Time and wrote books on it, trust me its a difficult subject.

Safe to say that we exist for a very short time and we should make the most of it.

true, because time exists in events, which are defined by occurence. Thus, all of these events have already occured, and are continously occuring simply because they have occured.

Which makes you think. If hell is eternal, is it a just punishment for any crime to suffer forever?

Uh, no. Hell hasn't been created yet. They are in hades now. Hell will be created when Christ comes and throws them in hell. No gymnastics, only intelligent reading.
