Age is just a number, it all depends on your maturity level. If you like someone that is older than you then go for it and if it is meant to be then things will work itself out.

Somebody in your same maturity range. But consider this, do you really want someone who is a lot older than you but at the same maturity level? Does that mean that they will never mature? And will you out mature them eventually? Think of the future. If you are far more mature for your age then it doesnt matter, but if you act like a twenty year old you definately dont want a 40 year old who still acts 20, that means they have issues!!!

As you age you are allowed to date someone who is 75%-150% of their age (unless local laws say otherwise)

Therefore, a 20 year old could in theory date anyone from 15 to 30 years of age

Depends on your circumstances. If the 20 year old is a student, I'd say 23. If the 20 year old is working, I would say maybe 25.

There's not really an absolute rule, but I think these are just society's rules for relationships. Anything outside them and people might start to think wierdly. That's all. I'm not an advocate of these rules, but I am aware of them.

A 20 yr old is an adult and therefore can make up their own mind...however I can't see that they'd have much in common with anyone outside of their 20s...
