I mean i know a french kiss is about the tounge but how do i start off?

this is what id do
1 get close to his mouth and only brush the lips
2 then slowly squiggle your toungue into his mouth
3 push your lips together lightly as your sticking ur toungue in
4 hold as long as you want then turn it into a regular kiss and pull off

When you're kissing him normally, just part his lips with yours and lick his tongue really fast and then finish the kiss... then take it from there, with more tongue...
