If so, did you find anything that helped? I'm finding that I'm having blackouts. Its very disturbing. I'm also finding I'm having trouble concentrating. I don't want to go off the meds because its the only thing that helps with my migranes.

The memory issues are subsididing; but the forgetting what words to use issues are still there. How does one pull off an impressive interview with this problem?

Topamax is an anticonvulsant it does have side effects. the most common are related to thought process, it can be slow, and difficult to concentrate, reflexes can also be slower, speech slows and you may have trouble finding the right word. weakness, and dizziness can also occur, These are common side-effects, there are also more severe side-effects also. It is recommended that you drink lots of water. Your Dr. can prescribe a different medication for your migraines or adjust the dosage of the Topamax. Consult your Dr. and tell him about your problems. they are related to the Topamax.

Call your doctor, I took Topamax for migraines and had an awful reaction. I woke up with a swollen face and could barely think to speak. I couldn't concentrate at all and felt awful. Since then I have tried Botox for BAD migraines and it worked like a miracle drug. I would have never considered it but unlike having to take a pill each day (with a bad reaction) it went away and hasn't come back. My friend also tried Relpax for hers. Good luck!

I'm a nurse. You might have to have the doctor to lower the dosage of the topamax. Just so you know one of the side effects is loss of concentration. These side effects are to be reported to the doctor. This medication might not be the best one for you. Blackouts is very serious. You should fear harming yourself and/or others. You need to please tell your doctor, call him.

I've been taking Topamax for about a year now and I haven't had any of the symptoms your relating. Have you spoken with your doctor, maybe there's something there he should know.

you should really go to the doctor immediately, these could be symptoms of something else but these sideffects are serious. and i did have a little trouble but mainly it was sleepiness.
Prescriptions can effect people differently esp. if you take into context body weight, and dosage. but as i said before Go To A Doctor....
