If there was a mile high moutnain of granite and every 1000 years a blackbird flew by and brushed it with a tailfeather, by the time that mountain wore down, the merest fraction of a second would have passed in context with eternity--Lois Duncan

Do you have any other comparisons to share? Any quotes that might help define what eternity is?

How long is eternity? It is beyond our imagination. Let's just try to take a glimpse at how long eternity really is;

"Suppose that a sparrow took a drop of water from the Atlantic Ocean, hopped across the country, put that drop in the Pacific Ocean, then hopped back to the Atlantic Ocean, and repeated the same thing. When that bird had emptied the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean, eternity would have just begun. And how tragic to spend that eternity in hell!

Think of all the leaves on all the trees. Multiply their number by all the grains of sand on every beach. Then multiply that total by all the inches between yourself and the sun.
Let the sum total represent centuries, and only then would eternity have begun. Only then would the sinner in hell have a small part of the suffering of that awful place".

I loved this and wanted to share it

Eternity - potential time with no end in sight. Infinity - potential to great to count number. there are a approach of diverse sizes of infinity ex: there are an unlimited sort of achievable mathematical factors between the numbers 0 and a million. - there are two times as many mathematical factors between the numbers 0 and a couple of. both solutions are finally nebulous (cloudy, fuzzy) Mathematical factors do not extremely exist. it truly is extra effective to sort the actual Universe. what number atoms exist alongside the fringe of a table ? There are a very great sort of atoms, inspite of the indisputable fact that it truly is achievable to count number them.

I don't remember the quote exactly, and I don't remember who said it, but it went something like this:

You're in a line at the grocery store. There are four trolleys in front of you .... and every one of them has young children ... and they're all screaming and crying for candy ... and the girl at the checkout doesn't speak English ... and everyone wants to pay by check ... and none of the items have prices ... and another trolley is behind you and you're afraid to look for a shorter line for fear of losing your spot ... and the kid in front of you just throws up on your purchases...

So, you take a few minutes off of this, and you have an idea of what eternity is.

It does not have a length, nor a beginning or an ending. That is the definition of eternity/forever. Our minds can't comprehend it because it is not a comprehensible notion. Nothing on earth or anywhere is infinite; everything has a beginning and an end, and is finite.

You are trying to measure eternity with time. That's not possible. There is no time in reference with eternity. Think of a big round ball and you are inside. Now go and find the end of it...

For me Endora, an eternity starts the day you give birth, and ends the day they finally leave home.

Our minds cannot fully fathom it.
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has entered into the heart of man, what God has in store for those that love Him."
It will be the beginning of real living, that we were created for. The creator of the universe, wants that, with you, and everyone, if they would have it. Amazing....
