maybe it depends on where you live but i have never heard of it being illegal. and actually just the other day i bought some kosher wine blessed by orthodox jewish rabbis. i'm not jewish but it sounded like it might taste good and it does. i think your friends dad is full of crap. i'd call the police station and ask them.

Because of the religious significance of serving wine, it is legal. Typically churches do serve "real" wine, but because it is blessed through the Sacrament of the Eucharist, it, in some beliefs is and/or symbolizes the blood of Christ. Putting that into mind, it then doesn't become so much about alcohol.

Wine in churches for the purpose of administering and participating in the Lord's supper is perfectly legal.

Any other alcohol consumption on the property is illegal (eg a wedding dinner) unless the premises applies for and receives a licence to serve it for that event only. Each event needs it's own licence.

Your friend's dad needs to educate himself before he starts making accusations that might embarrass him, but it's not up to you to tell your friend that he's wrong, because that would be embarrassing for her.

No, no, it's not illegal. The Catholic and Episcopal churches will only use real wine. They even make exceptions for churches in a dry county.

The Southern baptists use grape juice though, but that's a theological discussion, not a legal one.

No it isn't real wine. In the old days they used real wine but not anymore. That would be a little costly. However, I do think that when people take communion on religious holidays they may use real wine on those days - Christmas, Easter, etc.

Tell your Dad that it is NOT illegal to serve wine at church, jeez!

it is not illegal, the amount of wine only amounts to like 1/2 a shot glass which is 1/10 of a serving. the guy is just being a jerk, tell him to grow up.

Serving alcohol to minors would be considered illegal. However the bible does not say it is illegal to drink wine. It does say not to get drunk. Hope you find out what you are looking for.

I even have been to church homes that use authentic wine. it is not unlawful, as a results of fact it somewhat is a non secular ideal. lots of church homes do even inspite of the shown fact that use grape juice, as a results of fact it somewhat is extra low-value and it somewhat is representative of the wine (it somewhat is surprisingly sufficient representative of Christ's blood)... basically as some church homes do not use authentic bread, yet those little wafers.. to boot, alcohol isn't sturdy for you. we don't would desire to drink it anymore as a results of fact it somewhat is secure to drink the water. even inspite of the shown fact that some church homes nevertheless experience it mandatory to apply authentic wine and bread and there is not something unlawful or incorrect with that. they're of their eyes being extra observant.

Why would it be illegal? Tell your friend's dad to do what he wants, they aren't going to charge the church.

Not illegal, and it's depends on the denomination if it's real or not. That guy is just an idiot. He doesn't know his nose from his toe.
