Ok , why do you get more drunk if you drink alcohol through a straw? or do you think it is a myth??

The theory was put to me as there would be less oxygen in the liquid (yeah, okay.). This idea does get around though. Maybe there's something to it.
For that matter, a quick google shares this with us:
"There is some anecdotal evidence that alcohol sipped through a straw is more potent than simply drinking straight from the glass. Drinking through a straw helps mix air with the alcohol, carrying it to the nasal cavity where it is absorbed more rapidly. An even flow of alcohol also boosts absorption efficiency."
I guess that guy back in high school was onto something even if he got it backward.

Drinking through a straw allows you to drink faster. So you can drink more than someone who is sipping from a cup. I think you can get drunk faster with a straw but not necessarily "more drunk" than the guy with the cup, you just have to give him time to catch up.

a 24 pack should cost less than liquor.. if you're buying liquor for some cheap that's probably why it tastes bad. You get what you pay for in liquor. Drinking through a straw makes it worse. Try making mixed flavorful drinks to mask the alcohol taste..

one of my mums friends can get drunk from one pint if she drinks it with a straw XD you get drunk quicker because you suck up oxygen through the straw and also drink it with the alcahol, the alcahol is absorbed into the bloodstream quicker as it evaporates(?) into the oxygen...

it's not that you get more drunk, you just drink the drink faster than if you were sipping it. i drink most of my drinks thru a straw. also, if i ever drink beer i drink it thru a straw because it doesn't taste as bad, i guess because it doesn't touch all of my taste buds. i dunno. but you will get drunk faster because you will tend to drink the drink faster. good luck!

I`ve heard it`s urban legend, was on the Discovery Channel,
basically a chick thing to say when there wrecked... . "oh honey, I`m so drunk I shouldn`t have had them Bacardi Breezers and drunk them through a straw"... . hehehehe why don`t the say there horny now and just want to go home for a sh*g
